Desolate road car wise but believe me you aren't alone.
I would suggest another route then; Perhaps one not going through the middle of a zoo even.

Seriously, according to all the stories told by drunken red necks on long empty patches of road, I'm more afraid of aliens coming down and **** probing me. That's why I do 150 to get the hell out of there as fast as I can!

Maybe the trees were also traveling at 160?

Im surprised it gets 152 in 4th. I "hear" my C6 red lines at about 145ish in 4th. I figgured with the extra gear it would be less in 4th (havnt looked at the ratios).
yup we should have access to long straight streches in random places.
Maybe an extra lane on some interstates that open for 5 miles or so. you know a little sign as you approch " High speed test lane 2 miles ahead"
I would pay extra taxes for this one.

Of course if you do manage to just run off the road, there's a great chance that nobody will find you until somebody notices the buzzards circling your carcass. In any case, you can be almost sure that you'll be dead, (and probably stiff) before you get anywhere near the closest hospital.
I'm from Wyoming where we have a lot of roads like that, and the hospitals are few and far in between. If you're going to do something as stupid as that, at least let some-body know where you're planning on doing it, and when you SHOULD be home again.
In the meantime, I'll just wait for my stuntman to do it, and I'll watch the video!
Critters getting in your way is a problem when you're trying to drive fast, even on the track,

I was at the Indy 500 in 1966 when a rabbit got on the track in turn 4. They stopped the race so the track officials could try and herd the little guy off the track. I do have to say though, watching them trying to catch the rabbet on foot, waving their arms was more entertaining then the race.

Cell phones adjust iso and shutter speed based on lighting conditions. A shutter speed of 1/1000 or quicker will freeze those trees or the wheels on a car in place at that speed. Simple camera 101 man...

A C7 manual(either a base or Z51) will be doing 152 at 6500 RPM in fourth gear.
C7 auto base will be doing 176 at 6500 RPM in fourth gear.
C7 auto Z51 will be doing 165 at 6500 RPM in fourth gear.

C6 with a manual has the same gearing as the C7(in fourth gear) thus will also hit 152 in fourth gear.

One of the NASCARs at Team Texas High Performance Driving School where I used to work hit a raccoon at Texas Motor Speedway at ~160, wasn't pretty as it practically totaled the front clip.

My C5 ragtop ran at 150 rock solid roof down 6th gear mid 3000's just cruising down the road....needed a better stereo though, it was a bit windy.... So I would think the C7 would be even better....

Now, take out a C4 rag at 110 and you start getting lift off in the front end if the roof is down, that is a VERY disconcerting experience...

If you look at the left edge of the picture, you can see the trees are blurred because you are going past them at a high rate of speed. When looking ahead, just a little, you won't get the blur of something passing because it hasn't passed you yet. You're looking ahead, going towards it.

As far as the OP's hand not on the wheel, I'm sure someone else is taking the picture and he was pointing at the speedometer. His other hand was on the wheel.

Let's use some common sense.

Good picture OP.

Edit; I'm referring to the picture from the post of "FEAR" #54

You're quoting me why? The trees are still moving relative to the camera, the shutter speed is what created a lack of blur. Quote the fools that say its photoshopped, not me...

Yeah, thanks, I get it. Been shooting for 35 years.
The cel phones are NOT ISO adjustable, and there is NO WAY a cel phone will shoot at 1/1000 randomly. Their typical ISO in full light is somewhere in the 50 range. Even with a 2.0 aperture, it would require 1/60 - 1/250th shutter. Read below....

"The iPhone 5's trump card in poor light, compared to the 4S, is its additional ISO sensitivity span, which goes up to ISO 3200 (automatically - you can't control ISO manually). To get the iPhone 5 to shoot at its very highest ISO sensitivity settings, the light has to be extremely low."

Very common in Germany and no ticket. Wish we had that option here but too many are bothered.
