C7 v C6 427 Vert

I absolutely love the 427! It is a pleasure to drive & the most exciting car I've owned. I seldom have the top up, but when I do, it is surprisingly quiet.
I have sat in (but not driven) many C7 Stingrays, & though I like the upgraded interior & seats, I could not consider trading for a Stingray.
As stated before you have to go with the Corvette that you're passionate about. I feel I would miss the power & road feel of the 427 as well as I prefer the wide body & wider tires. The 427 is my DD & a very easy vette to drive in traffic, on the curves, or open road.
I will seriously consider going to a Z06 vert when they become available, but it will be hard to give up the 427! Styling aside, 650 trq/ 650hp, while more than I need, will be difficult to resist.
Buy what you like!

I have had both:
The 427 Convertible was a great Corvette! My problem was that I bit off more than I could chew financially with it! The C7 Corvette is only a 1LT with a 7 speed manual and NPP exhaust as it's only option. It rides and drives better, gets great gas mileage, low end power is about the same and is an overall better car! The 427 Vette still had 10 year old technology the C7 is now!

Well.... I traded my 427 for my C7... While I agree the 427 is an unbelievable c6... The C7 trumps it in every category ... As a stand alone....the 427 is amazing when compared to other C6's...but when compared to the C7.... It REALLY is old school ... It is a really refined 8 year old car ! The. C7 is a game changer.... Just read the reviews of the test drives by the same driver... I was in denial until I drove them back to back... Once you do... You will never look back!

Agree, the 427 is a great Corvette, in any industry there will always be something new and different, with todays technology cars are getting better all the time, Congrats on your ride!

In the earlier post the guy said he traded in 427 for $55k. It doesn't get any more factual than that. Perhaps you are having a hard time accepting the facts.

I see the 427 as a brash roadster & the C7 as a more sophisticated evolution with more precise handling & technology. Whether you enjoy the "fly by the seat of your pants" or the refined "fly by wire", either is a good choice.

I prefer analog to digital......at least with Corvettes, the C7 still has not done it for me and the C6 Z06 was love at first sight. I have a GS now but am thinking about a 427..........

Another aspect I love about the 427 is the beautiful exposed carbon fiber underside of the hood!

Remember GM is building one car fast in big numbers for a Corvette the other well no! Wrong place to get a real opinion in on C7 vs 427
in a C7 forum. Need to compare C7 vert not coupe.
