Default Ride of C7

This may have been asked before but here goes. Since none of the dealers around here will let me drive a C7, I want to know how the ride compares to a C6 base or Z06. Hopefully it is a much quieter ride. I have heard you still get the tire noise...Thanks..Mike

I got to drive a non-Z51 coupe for about four miles on a good road, and I thought it was noisier and harder riding than my '08 350Z touring coupe.

I was really thinking seriously about buying the car until I drove it.

I owned a 350z and a 370z, and that hasn't been my experience at all. I think the ride of the non-z51 C7 is pretty smooth and quiet. It seems to be quieter than the C6 I had with magnetic ride control. I've had two passengers tell me they were surprised how smooth the ride was. They said they thought Vettes had a harsh ride, but mine rode like a Cadillac.

It really depends on the road surface, if its rough concrete its pretty loud - no different than a C6 on stock tires IMO.

But on smooth roads its quieter than a C6 IMO, if anything just for the lack of wind noise and roof creaks..

I owned a C6 coupe with Michelin A/S 2 tires on it (replaced the original GY). The C7 is much more quiet that the C6, but it can still be a bit noisy depending on the road surface. I have the Z51 tires on it now for the summer, and they are a little noisier than the Continentals I use the rest of the year. There are a lot of variables to road noise. I will likely get a sound-dampening mat for the rear when the vendors start selling them.

The ride on my new C7 is smooth but... NOT QUIET. My C6 had the (aftermarket) body insulation kit which made a big difference. When I finally got rid of the Goodyear runflats it was night and day! I am surprised at the high level of road noise w/ the stock C7 Michelin tires.

My C7 vert is much better riding and quieter than my C6 coupe was.

Actually, I am surprised at how quiet they are compared to the old C6 runflats. I had also noise insulated my C6...The stock C7 (base on Z51 suspension) is still much quieter..

Frankly I was surprised how smooth it was. I find it smoother and quieter than the C6's I've driven. It may depend on the road condition. But same can be said of most cars. In a good road it's about as smooth as my Jaguar XJ.

I really don't care It is a SPORTS CAR and they are not supposed to ride like a Caddy. Open the NPP and enjoy the rumble
