Who told you to "use the Car Locator web site?" If it was your dealer, they suck. They have the status available with a few key strokes, any time they want. They are making thousands of dollars on your purchase, and should provide a little customer service for that price. As a reference to good service, I got a weekly progress report by e-mail, as well as a PDF copy of the OrderWORKBENCH document every time the status changed. I would suggest you talk to the Sales Manager or General Manager at your dealer, and demand the service your purchase entitles you to.

As for better wording, here are all the status levels between produced and delivered at the dealer. Your dealer can give you that status if he wants to.

4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
4104 Bailment Invoice Created
4B00 Bayed
4D00 On Hold At Plant
4P00 Hand Off To Carrier
4106 Bailment Released
4150 Vehicle Invoiced
4200 Vehicle Shipped
4300 Intermediate Delivery
4V03 Estimated Delivery Date
4800 Rail Ramp Unload

I went back to 7/8 to find the message suggesting using the Order Tracker web site. I didn't notice it at the time but this info was posted by Doug526 (at 12:05 PM), who more than likely has nothing to do with Customer Service. He's a junior member and maybe he called himself trying to be helpful. Mine was not the only request he answered. If he's reading this, I suggest he butt's out and let Customer Service handle status requests. All of the confusion could have been prevented if he hadn't butted in. The information available at Order Tracking is next to worthless, but I didn't know that at the time.

Agreed. The order tracking site is not designed for the Vette buyer, and is wholly inadequate. It might suffice for Grandma's Malibu, but not for this crowd.

And apologies to any Grandmas rocking a C7 or any other vette.

Hi! My order number: RTKMRW (dealer in NH)

A week ago, my dealer said I was at 4200, bayed in Toledo.
Any change since then? Have I caught a train yet? Rail car #?
