And that, I think, was the real problem for LRG. You really have to see the color to appreciate it. Green can be beautiful or ugly depending on slight differences in the color. Therefore people were reluctant to order the color unseen which, in turn, led to dealers not ordering them for stock. I was in the same boat because I couldn't go anywhere to see one in person so I hesitated to order one. Then I was lucky to finally find one in stock, loved the color at first sight, and bought it immediately.

It would be interesting how many ordered LRG vs. buying from stock...

Just got my LRG Z51 3LT coupe back in April. I traded a black C5 coupe on it so I now have some experience with both colors. I've found it to be a lot better than black as far as showing dirt and road grime.

Last week we did a 2,500 mile road trip in it. Of course it was outside the whole time and we went through a few thunderstorms etc. Stopping for lunch on the last day I was looking at the car out the window of the fast food joint we were in and I have to say from a distance it still looked great (heck even up close it still looked great). But from 50 feet away, you really could not tell how dirty it was by then. Much better than black in my opinion.

As far as why the sold so few? For my wife and I green is a difficult color. There are some greens we like and some we hate (if you have seen a lime green Ford Fiesta lately you know the ones we hate). Because it has to be just the right green for us, I would probably not have risked buying an LRG car without actually seeing one first. The pictures on Chevy's web site for the 2014 don't do it justice at all. We chose it when we walked into the dealership and they happened to have two sitting there in the showroom. Had I not seen one in person, I would not have risked ordering one. But having seen it, it immediately became my favorite color for the C7.

I ordered mine on the last day you could order a 2014, I could have waited a week and ordered a 2015. But I WANTED LRG. That's also how I got a uber rare LRG ZF1.

Had the pleasure of seeing a Lime Rock Green coupe today, first time seeing the color in person, damn it looks good, my 96 roadster is Polo Green and I thought the two colors looked very similar with the Lime Rock being just a little darker, if I could step up to a C7 it would be one painted Lime Rock Green.

I also ordered mine but could have waited for a 2015. But I had seen one of the special LRG convertibles at a dealer. Mine should also be rare since it has the gray interior.

Saw this at the dealer today. It's called Emerald Green on the Camaro but looks very much like LRG.

This is up at an autocross at Lime Rock Park CT. Saw one at Kerbeck but it was an automatic, mine is a 7sp!

Yes..... I went through the same thought process before ordering my LRG coupe. Green metallic is my favorite color. This LRG coupe is my 6th green car. You really can't appreciate the brilliance of the color until you see it in sunlight.

Just bought this one used with 13,000 miles. Z51, Mag ride, performance exhaust, Brownstone Napa leather.

Wife and I made a vacation of driving it home.

Just wanted to share to fellow lime rock green Corvette owners the 2014 production stats.
This will give you some information on how few of us there are.

Here's mine at the Grand Canyon

I didn't even like the new C7 until I saw the very first picture in this thread posted by -CM-.
Wow, I just had to have that color. Ordered in May and took delivery in July of last year. Couldn't be happier.
