I've always thought all this push button door opening stuff was nonsense, but I don't hold it against an otherwise great car.
Maybe the original poster doesn't want to tell us that it is his thigh holster that is hitting the button.
There has to be a seating position to avoid this.

No issues with my knee inadvertently tripping the door switch... but I did notice my wrist (specifically the styloid process- where the ulna meets the wrist bones) inadvertently turned off the TC button on the mode selector 2x during shifting/spirited driving... not a design flaw on the C7, but just a genetic flaw on mankind... or simply human error on my sorry self.

2008 MY to 2009 a "shroud" was introduced around window buttons. Similarly the door release bezel design can change for a fix to un-intentional door opening. Aftermarket vendors also will come out with carbon fiber and color door release bezels. A creative and thicker design on bezel overlay can fix this problem.

When Debbie gets back from Church, I will video what is happening. When I am driving, my leg is stretched out like folks have shown in pics here and the car does autolock, so the issue is mute.
It is when I am sitting still with the car running, typing in a Nav location or the radio, and I move my leg to a more comfortable natural sitting position, and my knee makes perfect contact with the button. I do have very short legs, ask anyone who knows me, but I know dozens of folks my height and a few shorter (I have to search hi and low to find one).
The point is, that the button should have been located in a different spot altogether.
The C7 is an awesome car, and I am not trying to dis it here, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

I am on my way to church. I sat in the seat to see how this happens and I have the seat adjust set to start up. So when I first get in the car, the seat is all the way back, and my knee makes direct contact with the button when my leg is bent in a normal sitting position.
The workaround? I need both knees replaced anyway, maybe the surgeon will have to shave off some of the left knee patella.

Kind of looks like your feet don't reach the pedals? Do you actually drive from that position?

I think the car was not running in the video. I have the seat programmed to move into driving position with the ignition on. So what you see is the EXIT position not DRIVING position.
So I close the door, the door pops open, and so on.
Obviously, once the car ignition is on, the problem is solved, but for me, the door release is in exactly the wrong spot upon entering the car. I'm pretty sure that the passenger door release it not in that position.

Absolutely brilliant! GM thought of everything with the C7. Hands free door opening from the inside!
That said, I am 5'6" as well. I just ordered my C7 and I guess it will be something I will have to get used to avoiding. That said, it might be kind of convenient to be able to open the door with my knee and not have to find the button with my hand.

Or change the exit seating position to a spot where the knee is just out of range of the door release button. This assuming that the exit position can be changed via the memory.
