Default C7 experience is going bad :(

After a great Museum Delivery experience, GM is now causing me grief.

Last Monday, my C7 became disabled due to a malfunctioning driver's seat. Long story short, dealer removed the seat and can not get parts to repair the seat from GM.

Online chat says basically nothing.

Dealer says they can't even track the parts because GM is sending parts from the factory. The problem is, no one knows when any parts will arrive and at this point, I have no C7 for the past 9 days. It has been 8 days since they have asked for parts from GM.

I PM'd Chevy Customer Serv here on CF which has yielded no response.

Where are GMs priorities? So far things are not going well.

I WANT MY CAR BACK!

Talk to the service manager and make sure that it's ok for you to call GM Customer Service for assistance.

Some will say you don't need to ask anyone to call GM customer service but it's just a common courtesy if you want to maintain a good relationship with your dealership.

Chat can't help you and PM on here might take a day or two. Good luck and hopefully you are back on the road soon.

I actually mentioned calling GM and they didn't seem to have a problem with it. They say the problem is no being able to get the parts.

Find out who the GM Regional Service Manager for your area is, let the dealer know you're going to escalate this to them and do so.

If that doesn't resolve the problem, take it on up the chain. You'll be surprised how much that can help, but you may need to do some detective work to find the right person.

new product is it really a surprise GM does not have a surplus of spare parts?..GM was caught off guard by the demand and are behind the "power curve". patience OP she will be right again...but seeing that you are a first year buyer patience may not be your thing...good luck

GM caught off guard by demand? don't think so. they are knocking them out in record time. This is low priority, comments about climbing the ladder to resolve make sense.

Your point is well taken but if they build them they should be able to fix them in a timely manner. This reminds me of all the headaches I had with my early 05 in 2004. My car was dead in my garage 2 days after I bought it and it got worse from there. I'm waiting this time around.

This is a point I didn't think of before. All parts are probably headed for the assy line which makes sense. But service parts bins won't be filled up for a while since GM figured that everything is new so the service bins won't be needed just yet. So any parts needed will need to be pulled right out of the assy line bins.

Another reason for waiting out the first MY.

Sounds like a dealer allocation problem. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the forum dealers.

How exactly does the seat disable your C7?

There were exactly nine Z51 packages available for the entire US market as of the end of October, seems to me that GM marketing is well ahead of their build capability.

ok depends on how you look at it. orders with certain options are not being scheduled but cars are flying out of plant.

Good question. Only thing I can think is maybe it went towards dash to the minimum position and OP can't get in car. Have dealer set back to a neutral position and drive it until parts get in.

When it moves to a forward position and cannot return to a rear position or recline in anyway. No human can fit between the seat and the steering wheel. Maybe I should have said.."disable the driver".

I placed a deposit with the largest forum corvette dealer in the northeast.
It's GM that dropped the ball on this one

That's a bummer for sure. Hope they fix it quick. I had a car once where the power seat failed . . . it was actually only a bad fuse, but I assume the C7 is more complex than that.
