The 'Retainer' ....are you liking it now?
After seeing so many pics of C7s I am getting used to the shiny strip grill now. I actually like it. In the beginning my thought was to immediately make it black, but now I think it's cool. Just one step closer to knowing what I want next Spring.

Give it time by spring aftermarket will have all kinds of opts. Maybe even a LEd or
light strip that can go there
??? all black with red fangs. Might be cool seeing that come up behind you at night

I like it, always did since 1-13-13... and it goes well with my C7's body color. Same sentiment with Camaro's big grin... err permagrin.
Love it!
I also think it looks fine when seen w/ different body colors... blacking out is cool too; it all depends on one's preference.

I recommend never make changes until you operate the car for several months. Amazingly some details that you don't like now will be OK later. Some people don't like the Sting Ray on the side and said they would remove it prior to leaving dealer's lot. I kinda like the Sting Ray theme, first I was indifferent to the emblem, "Now" after people (non Corvette type) commented on the new Corvette/Sting Ray and it's status, I would never remove it. It is like stripping the car's rank.

this thread always divides into those that want to make changes and those that wag their finger at others for changing...LOL
I think it works on some colors - like silver for example - on my Cyber, I wanted it and the fish gone as soon as I saw the car....

It's a simple question... 'are you liking it?'
Simple answers... no or yes. And if why, then that's all good too.
To each their own... those that want a change, good for them; those who like to status quo, good for them too. It gets out of line when someone takes it way out of context, or when insults prevail, or one's opinion is downright offensive... or just simply instigates never-ending arguments.

Lots of people have "asked" me to black it out. LOL
I "asked" them to go buy their own C7 and do what they want with it.
I like the strip. It pays homage to the older Stingrays that had chrome bumpers.

I'm Mr anti chrome himself, but I never disliked it from the start. To me it's a little bit of brightwork that breaks up all of the darkness of the grille. Same thing with the stingray fender badge and the corvette lettering on the back.
