Default Road Trip Planned...but rain in forcast

Wife and I have scheduled a little time away and planned on driving our new c7 to get to fully enjoy; however, 50% chance of rain for one day. I hate to get her dirty, but hate to leave it in the garage.

Looking for opinions to help settle my guilt for getting the car out in bad weather or confirm it's a bad idea. Thanks.

Drive it! A little rain wont hurt it. I wouldnt do it if the road conditions are bad, aka snow or hail or something. If the roads are bad then its no fun at all. However a little rain one day wont make a difference, especially if its not a washout. You will regret not having it more than having to wash it.

Corvettes can get wet, you know that right?

When mine was new a rainy day would not prevent me from driving it. As time went on and the "newness" wore off ever so slightly. Rather than ruin my freshly detailed BLACK Vette I now defer to my more than capable DD.

Ok... Point taken. Just grew up with that driven in my head. Thanks, we can delete due to silly question.

I would never drive my Vette and risk getting it dirty or wet. (these were taken when my '01 Z06 was about 3 and 1 years old respectively. Not photo shopped!)

I waited on the shoulder and watched dozens of cars ford the flood zone so I could gauge the depth. It was only a few inches deep, but the other cars were leaving sizable wakes that could submerge my floorboards or hydro-lock my engine.

After the traffic cleared and the water settled, I gently set off across the flooded section at 2mph. I made it to the other side just as some hell-raising teenagers showed up to make rooster tails in their 4x4. That was too close.

That was actually a pressure wave from my car. Had a Blackwing filter and drove very slowly. Motor never ingested water, though it must have been close.

Read about my drive home from the dealership, then decide if the 50% chance of rain is anything to be concerned about.

Meh. Drive it. I've driven vettes in lots of rain. Just remember the throttle isn't an on-off switch and exercise normal prudence you'll be fine.

Ok to get 'em wet. Just don't feed it after midnight.

Gotta remember that quote. If you ever think it was plagiarized than guilty .

Drive it. Maybe you'll get to try out the weather mode. I saved my C6 when I first purchased it, now it is traded on a C7. Currently driving my C4 until the C7 gets built.

DRIVE IT! I've done the Museum Delivery 4 times, from KY to CA , over 3,000 miles each time, rain each time, snow last time - no problems.

If you're worried about dirt, this was my 2005 after Museum Delivery.

This was after cleaning it.
