I think the worst part about waiting is other people asking "so when's the car coming?"
My deposit was placed in March and I'm still at 1100. I looks likely that I'll be driving a 2015 this summer but I'll be pleasantly surprised if I get a call in the next few months.
From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

where is the dealer monk? if it has to take the rail you have a month or more to go. i just hope my car wasn't on the train that crashed because if it is i am going to buy 08 turbo cab.
I could care less if someone cancelled their C7 because of impatience. If folks just can't handle the wait, so be it. The real irony would be the OP ordering the hi-po version and then having to wait months yet again.
Looks like all of the apologists have rushed in to bash the thread starter.
Nothing wrong with him sharing his reasoning. I've done the same before with other brands. You set your hopes up and things just don't pan out how you'd like. Happens.

I was in the same boat as you but somebody here turned me on to macmulkin. They had my color a few more option than I wanted buy i said what the heck and bought it. Have you tried looking at big dealers if they have a spec car or one that was not picked up by the orderer?
I was out East visiting my in-laws and visited MacMulkin and wow what a dealership. I'm in the same boat, well kind of. I placed my order for a pretty basic car and it has been about a month and no date known yet. I check in and the dealer said the car is not on constraint but "not picked up yet" and seems like I'm bothering them by asking .
I will give my local dealer another month just out of respect to buy local and if no date I will order from MAcMulkin in NH. I was really impressed with their staff and knowledge and had I not give a deposit to another would have bought from them that day.
How in the hack can I call a dealer on the 16th of Oct, car built on 8 Nov and have my C7 in my garage on the 20 Nov. ? It has Z51 and dual roofs and I expected next year also. I fell for all who are waiting but as least it's winter for many wouldn't be driving in the salt anyway. Time flies and with the holidays much more is happening to keep your mind off the wait.
Hang in there. Even ChevyMall is back ordered on the C7 brochures.

You need to order from a dealer with an allocation!
Why do you think others can order and get a car in 6 or 7 weeks?
If you ordered like you said in March, with a dealer with an allocation for you, the car would be in your garage by now.
NOBODY is turning to the competition.....says so much about this car and the design.
People that buy another brand because of the GM drama may just not post it here.
It is no longer a Chevrolet. It is now an Allocation by GM. So if you live in some small town with a Chevy dealer that you've done business with for 30 yrs., you are just SOL if you want a C7 unless you want to buy mail order. One of the stupidest most customer alienating systems know to mankind.

Oh well. It's been that way with the Corvette and every other low volume or high demand vehicle from GM, Ford, Chrysler, and the larger foreign manufacturers (Honda - Acura NSX for example) for years.
It took me 'forever' to receive my '69 Corvette from my small dealer. He had an annual allocation of three cars! I enjoyed my life as I waited.
Or you can go to one of 38 Ferrari dealers, 23 Aston Martin dealers, or (woo-hoo) 189 Porsche dealers across the US! They don't operate with any customer alienating allocation system!
