Default $200 personalized plaque

I was wondering if anyone selected this option. I have never owned a new car before but told the wife if we got a C7 for the new year I would want that indulgence.

at first I was going to do both this and a vanity plate with "bad C7" or something..as time when on, they just seemed more lame as I thought about it on my car.....

...but...the std post disclaimer = " to each his own!!"

Lol. I just thought it would be cool to have the family name or the name of the car on the plaque...especially if you knew you would keep the car for life.

That means you have to sell the car to your Crazy Uncle on your Father's side of the Family when you decide to upgrade to a Z06.

I ordered it for my future C7 vert, and as delivery drags on, now question whether it is really worth $200.00,

For my current C6GS vert I had ordered this $10.00 custom vinyl option that fits nicely on the ashtray door and will simply peel off when traded in.

I was disappointed with the quality and appearance of the plaque

That's about $190 of profit. Yeah, no thanks.

I'm sure the aftermarket will offer different options in different colors at a better price before too much longer.

$200.00 for that?
Thanks for posting the actual image, that solidifies it for me, cancelling that option!

I told my wife I was getting our names on the car on the plaque. She was talking to her sister, and her sister asked my wife (only half joking) "so how do you get Rick's name off of there if you ever have to?" She was worried about the technical difficulty and damage it might leave to pull off the sticker.

My answer was "I am sure all it will take is a couple of lawyers and a judge."

I would like it, but $200 is too much.

That's nice ...
If I may ask, here did you order that?

I ordered the decal in April 2010 when I purchased my GS using a different computer and no longer have the companies e-mail address. I will look for it in my old C6 records/receipts and send you a PM [per Forum guidelines] when I do.

I think the same way about some of the paint colours ... I really doubt yellow costs much more than $20 more for GM, yet we pay $1000. But that's the point, its value (like almost everything in life) is in what people are willing to pay for it.

I got the plaque. The car was a surprise Christmas/Birthday gift for my wife. For that reason it was worth it. However, if I was just buying it for myself I think I would pass.

I am not keeping the car forever, just something to deal with at trade-in time. My name is on the title where it really matters.
