Default #10182 Comes Home!

Today was a great day - my Stingray came home! Vehicle was produced on December 12 and arrived at the dealer on December 27.

I'm about 170 miles from my dealer - plan was to trailer it home due to sand / salt / muck on the roads. So, I picked up a U Haul car transport (which worked incredibly well) yesterday after work.

Left bright and early this AM and drove to the dealer in Morton, Illinois (Bob Grimm Chevrolet - HIGHLY recommended). The dealer left the factory shipping cover on the vehicle - this was ideal as the roads were wet with salt and sand mixed in. Cover kept the vehicle perfect on the trip home (even though an open trailer). Great feeling as I walked up to see the car for the first time.

Loaded the car on the trailer and soon we were driving back.

Once home removed the cover and introduced it to HOME! Super happy to have the car.

Tomorrow is going to be another great day - I get to install the front air dams, splash guards, interior bits, and start learning about everything this vehicle is.

One last side note - towed the vehicle home on the U Haul car transport and pulled it with a 2011 Tacoma 4WD V6. 170 mile trip back, rolling hills (not flat but no major climbs), and cruised at 70-75 mph the entire way. That truck is flat out awesome for towing. Don't be scared of using a U Haul trailer either - also worked awesome.

WOW! Congrats! Guess no concern about the delivery inspection by the dealer? Wish you the Best!

Check that ediff fluid level.....

Actually I'm pleased with how few issue threads there have been lately, 10k stingrays in it looks like BG has got their act together.

I do - very few crits, mostly road races and time trials. That's a bad habit also - Pinarello, Colnago, Cervelo, etc!

Dealer checked all fluids - left everything else alone (my request). Paint is PERFECT and was amazingly clean when I took the cover off. Don't know if everyone gets everything - but I have ALL the paperwork, stickers, documentation, etc. Even got the two build sheets with stamps, etc. on them from the production line. Everything was in the hatch area. VERY cool!

Congrats! Thank you for sharing. It motivates guys like me that have their C7 on order and are waiting for the day when we get to play too.

I DO know exactly how you feel. As others have said - it is WELL worth the wait. I was very happy with my C6 - but the difference between that and this is unbelievable.

Congratulations! Great pictures too. The transport picture should answer questions on whether they ship Corvette's during the plant shutdown.

Wow! That's pumping them out the door in BG. My #4963 was built 10/13 with your #10182 built 12/12.
