Default Dumb questions

Is there any way to turn the center console display OFF ? When I don't need navigation or want to listen to music, I'd just as soon have the screen be black. Pushing the button in the left **** only mutes the sound ... I notice that the thumb drive in the USB port continues to run.

Is there any way to have the doors lock automatically when I move away from the car with the fob in my pocket ? And, of course, unlock them when I come near ?

Thanks for your help.

I don't believe there is a way to turn the center console display off.

Personalization > Vehicle

Passive Door Lock

This feature can be turned on or off,
or can be used to select feedback
when using the button on the driver
door to lock the vehicle. See
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
System Operation on page 2-3.

Select Off, On with Horn
Chirp, or On.

Thanks for your help.
Looks like you should be able to do it.....

From Page 70 of the infotainment manual:

. Turn Off Display: Press to turn
the display off. Press anywhere
on the display area or any
faceplate button again to turn
the display on.

Have you read the owners manual?

Or you could lower the screen.

Just lower the screen and place a small potted plant in there.

I've got a buddy that isn't a fan of the entertainment system and has figured a way to have the C7 Logo remain on the screen the entire time while he is driving. I'll let him know about your question and let him respond on how he did it.

I think lowering the infotainment screen out-of-sight is a great idea

That doesn't turn it off - just mutes the sound. If there is a thumb drive in the USB port, it continues to run.

Don't want to lower the screen and have to look at a hole in the dash.

No, of course I haven't read the owner's manual - you only do that as a LAST resort.

The potted plant comment made me laugh.

Other comments are appreciated; thanks.

If you press and hold the power button it will go to a blank screen with an analog clock.

This is the CORRECT answer. It's in "Settings".

If you live in Colorado, just place your POT in there.
