Thanks for the write-up. I've never thought about taking the warning labels off my car but I know a lot of owners do not like them on the sunvisors.

I went back and used a mild adhesive remover once again. This time, I used the hair dryer to blow hot air on the surface as I rubbed the adhesive remover over the fabric. I could see that using the hair dryer with the adhesive remover was making a difference! I then used a wet rag and rubbed the fabric quite a bit to remove all remaining adhesive and to raise the fabric in a way that matched the rest of the fabric on the visor. The next two photos reveal the finished product. And I think I can live with this.

I wonder if Windex with vinegar or straight vinegar would work well for removing the adhesive and be less harsh on the fabric. I know that vinegar is great for removing window tint adhesive. Then again, why mess with a good thing. I might just have to do the same. What adhesive remover did you use? You mentioned mild adhesive remover which is why I ask.

Oh boy, don't you know what happens when you remove the visor labels......

To me why take a chance on not doing it right and having a mess on your hands. Besides in 50 or so years when these become classics, the buyer will be looking for correct replacement decals (lol)

Well, you do have a valid second point. But the results I obtained are mess free (although I could see how someone could make a mess of things under the right circumstances).

I cover my driver side label with a reminder note about when I come off Deferred Adjudication for my latest speeding ticket. Using this practice with my lead foot, I rarely get to see that silly label.

Thanks! I'm happy with the final result and glad it came out like it did. I was a little apprehensive because there were quite a few posts online about removing the labels, but not very many pictures, which made me think people weren't having the best luck with this. Hopefully this post helps others wanting to remove these.

Looks great with the final result.
I never removed mine before, but I think I may when my C7 arrives.
Which mild chemicals did you end up using? I'd just like to know so your "mild" and my "mild" are similar.

I'll have to check when I get home. My wife had something similar to Goo Gone, but I can't recall the name of it. Will post it when I get home.

Back on topic - thanks for posting this, OP. I'm waiting to learn what chemical you used to get the glue off before trying it myself.
