For those who owned both the C6 Z51 and the C7 Z51 (without mag. shocks), is the ride about the same with both Z51 suspension? I have a 2008 Z51 with Bilstein sport shocks and have no complaints about the ride. The Bilstein sport shocks improved the ride in my C6 and I believe the C7's come with Bilstein shocks. Just curious, if the magnetic shock option is really necessary for those who are fine with the C6 Z51 suspension?

You'll find hundreds of opinions on this in all the other threads on this subject. That said, seeing that you're in CA most opinions were that you'll be ok without MRC. If you were in a state with potholes and frost heaved roads, maybe not.

Just so you know, California is broke and the roads are a joke. I personally won't buy a Corvette here w/o MSRC.

The roads in San Francisco are terrible, however I live just north where the roads are good. I'm asking for a comparison between the C6 vs C7 Z51 (w/o MRC) are they similar? The Z51 is a must have option, so that is not in question.

I had a 2008 Z51, and now have a C7 Z51 with mag ride. I can't speak to the non mag ride version, but the ride in tour mode on my C7 is much better than the C6 without run flats. With the run flats the C6 ride was even worse. I would bet the ride on a C7 Z51 without Mag ride would still be better than the C6.

In any case, if you opt for the Mag ride I don't think you'd be disappointed. Leave off the 3LT that so many seem to want, to me that's a bit of a waste.
