Will some late 2014s be delivered after the 2015s?
I'm reading other threads where orders are moving at a snail's pace....got to wondering if it is possible that some customers will not receive their 2014 C7 before the initial 2015s hit the streets. Is this a likelihood?

Well, no 2015's will be built for sale until they stop building 2014's. Is it possible that due to shipping differences that someone may get an early 2015 before a late 2014? Maybe.

Yes, that's what I'm thinking...that rail shipment issue could cause an overlap, or some other issue like a parts shortage...yikes!

Rail shipment, yes. Parts shortage, no. They will have a shutdown between MY 2014 and MY 2015 production. MY 2014 production ceases at the shutdown. Once 2015 MY production starts, no more 2014's will be built.

Maybe some of the vendors should add a shift and get the parts needed to build the ordered cars. Maybe GM will revisit the vendors for the 2015's. If my company holds jobs up I would get tossed. As you can figure I am waiting to get my order accepted and am not leaving anything behind. I guess if I sit to long maybe I will decide to spend my money elsewhere. I know GM could give a rats *** about me and my lousy $70,000.

Yes.... a very late 2014 shipped by rail could be delivered after a very early 2015 shipped by truck.
Some rail shipments are now in the 50 days and counting. I got mine by truck 6 days after it rolled off the line.

I would bet GM would abandon rail shipments after a certain date as a courtesy to those in wait.

Yes it could happen. I have been through the plant during model change over and here is what happens. about every fourth car was the next model year and will have a big "15" printed on the windshield. Then it goes every third and so on until all the 14s are built and all are now 15s on the line. So yes its possible but usually GM will hold the next years models until the prior years models are shipped and the new upcoming model year cars pass validation and are deemed "OK to Ship" Im guessing at least a 30 day gap between 14 and 15 delivery to dealers.
