I did stitching in red the same day I got my car... And this is definitely the first thing most people see and comment on as soon as they come in car. When I tell them I did it myself they are so shocked and don't believe me. Best mod ever

My wife commented on the way back from Monterey this weekend about the blue sticking mod. She likes it.

We were out doing some cruzin around town in the Vette today and swung into an Office Depot for a couple of Red Sharpie's. I was going to wait for cooler weather, but what the heck, couldn't wait. It was 97 degrees but there was a nice breeze flowing through the garage, so grabbed some water to stay hydrated and 2hours and 2 Red Sharpie's later, here's the results!! It was the steering wheel that was the most difficult, I thought, but all in all, not bad.

Just some FYI and words of advice. I did notice that if I went beyond 4 or 5 stitches without wiping quickly, there was some residue (looks a little shiny). Fortunately, with the red on black you really can't see it unless you look very very close.

I know this all has been said, so just as a reminder: If you're really patient, use a fine point Sharpie, and do 2 to 3 stitches at a time, you should be okay. Definitely do a less visible location for some testing before committing.

Agree, I have a Gray interior, and all I have seen is the Black seats in photo's. I am concerned that the Grey will pick up the dye too.

Has anyone with a Gray interior done this mod? Pic's Please??

I tried this in yellow using the stained by sharpie pen, but I'm not happy with it at all. It looks too green, maybe because of the black seats. I'm going to get the Marvy yellow pen and go over it again to see if it will make it look more yellow.

I'm going to go back and update my original post since some have indicated the stained by sharpie yellow has left a green tint on some thread jobs and that the Marvy yellow looks better. Hopefully you'll have better results with the Marvy. Mine has faded a little and I'm going to go over them again with the Marvy, actually. Let us know how it turns out.

I ordered a couple of the yellow pens above....hopefully they will take out some of the lime green tint and add more yellow! I will advise once I receive them and try them out.

Is the red from a fabric marker or just a regular red sharpie permanent marker?

I would recommend using the fabric dye marker, which I believe most if not all who have posted in this thread have used. You could try a regular permanent marker on an area that is hard to see and see what it does. Be sure to let us know the outcome if you try this. Thanks!

ANOTHER OPTION: I tried a new option, the ZIG Fabricolor Twin, and found that it matches Velocity Yellow the best. There are other colors, of course. You can view them here: http://www.markersupply.com/zigtema1.html#.VW0zLkb5GXo
