Best $2.49 interior mod ever (IMHO)
#201
I did stitching in red the same day I got my car... And this is definitely the first thing most people see and comment on as soon as they come in car. When I tell them I did it myself they are so shocked and don't believe me. Best mod ever

The stitching in my car is gray. The exterior is Silver. Life is good.

We were out doing some cruzin around town in the Vette today and swung into an Office Depot for a couple of Red Sharpie's. I was going to wait for cooler weather, but what the heck, couldn't wait. It was 97 degrees but there was a nice breeze flowing through the garage, so grabbed some water to stay hydrated and 2hours and 2 Red Sharpie's later, here's the results!! It was the steering wheel that was the most difficult, I thought, but all in all, not bad.

Has anyone at all tried dyeing the GRAY INTERIOR in the 2014 Vette. If you have, PLEASE, PLEASE, post a picture so I will get the guts to dye my stitching BLUE!!!!!!

I know this all has been said, so just as a reminder: If you're really patient, use a fine point Sharpie, and do 2 to 3 stitches at a time, you should be okay. Definitely do a less visible location for some testing before committing.

I tried this in yellow using the stained by sharpie pen, but I'm not happy with it at all. It looks too green, maybe because of the black seats. I'm going to get the Marvy yellow pen and go over it again to see if it will make it look more yellow.

I'm going to go back and update my original post since some have indicated the stained by sharpie yellow has left a green tint on some thread jobs and that the Marvy yellow looks better. Hopefully you'll have better results with the Marvy. Mine has faded a little and I'm going to go over them again with the Marvy, actually. Let us know how it turns out.

I would recommend using the fabric dye marker, which I believe most if not all who have posted in this thread have used. You could try a regular permanent marker on an area that is hard to see and see what it does. Be sure to let us know the outcome if you try this. Thanks!

ANOTHER OPTION: I tried a new option, the ZIG Fabricolor Twin, and found that it matches Velocity Yellow the best. There are other colors, of course. You can view them here: http://www.markersupply.com/zigtema1.html#.VW0zLkb5GXo
