Default Wide body....well sort of

Does anyone know if there are any vendors working on a wider rear end? I am not talking about some super exaggerated version, something wider but a factory look similar to the Z06. I want to go with wider concave wheels which won't work with the C7. Unfortunately, to do it right the rear fenders, bumper and rocker panel would require replacement making this possibly cost prohibited but you never know.

A Z06 runs wider wheels and tires but also a lot more outward wheel offset. To run the more outward wheel offset it probably has a different suspension geometry because wheel offset changes the roll centers.

The base C7 and Z51 C7 can run 265/305 tires and do that at 5mm more outward wheel offset than stock. Wider tires than that use more inward wheel offset which is not the preferred setup (and again not the way that the Z06 does it). More outward than 5mm over stock wheel offset probably uses the stock tire sizes.

The wheel sizes for 265/305 tires:

18 x 9.5, 51mm, front
19 x 9.5, 51mm, front
19 x 11, 74mm, rear
20 x 11, 74mm, rear

Well, the Forgeline one-piece forged wheels are concave and offer 50mm front wheel offset and 73mm rear wheel offset. That's a 10" front wheel and an 11" rear wheel.

Or instead of a concave wheel take a look at a three-piece wheel without a step lip. Then to make it deep just increase wheel width while keeping the wheel offsets and tire sizes as suggested above. That can push the wheels out while keeping the tire tread under the fender.

A body kit for extreme wheel offsets would be possible but a more popular kit would just change the rear end styling, remove the front warts, and add a thin racing style front splitter. Also, I like a rear spoiler that looks like the 1979 Corvette. The C7 has these simple thick triangles at the rear spoiler and elsewhere
.

The stock C7 is 174" long and 74" wide, do you really need a wide body?
