Default ? Ref supplier and employee pricing

Basic question:

Who absorbs this discount...GM or the dealer or some combination?

Well dealer obviously is not making as much profit on a car that he could sell without supplier pricing. He also loses an allocation to less profit.

Exactly why some dealers won't offer C7 GMS...MacMulkin won't play on Z51's

GMS (Employee) and Supplier are treated differently from both a profit and allocation standpoint. I believe dealers get to "replace" the GMS allocation where with Supplier they don't, it just shows as a sold unit. Dealers retain the holdback (3%) plus a few $$$ on the sale price with supplier price as it comes in slightly above invoice. They also get the sold unit credit which is counted towards sales bonuses. I've read various details on how GM handles an Employee deal with some saying the dealer gets the holdback and others saying the don't so I don't know for sure what the real answer is. There are other details none of us are privy too which is why it's left up the the dealer to decide whether they want to participate or not.

No one should hold it against any dealer for not participating, it's their business that they need to run in a way they see fit. Just take your business elsewhere if a dealer isn't participating in the program.

No Problem

BTW, I edited my reply on GMS pricing. I've read multiple answers to how GMS is treated at the dealer level so I figured what I initially typed may not be true, hence the edit.

The bottom line is when a car is selling at MSRP dealers take a profit hit selling in either program. That's why their participation is optional.

I don't think anyone has confirmed that either way yet.

That would make sense since that's where most of employees live. Big dealers here have no interest in GMS...who can blame them.

Hendrick's Chevrolet in Shawnee Mission Kansas is allowing GMS. I am number one on their list to order a 2015 and they have confirmed with me that I can use GMS.

Les Stanford here in the Detroit area was the first to offer it and they are a "Big Dealer " . Last I checked they had 58 in stock ready to sell.

I just bought a Blade Silver Vert. from a local dealer here in the Detroit area. Got GMS at the old price. He had 5 cars in stock.

When I was looking I called several in the area and they all were offering GMS.
