C7 and C6 also have headlamp washers in Europe. You would think it would be easier just to include them on US models as well. GM is a company that only will include the minimum required by law. God forbid they should have to include an extra $50 Worth of Euro spec options on the US models.
And we also need extra turn signals on the front fenders (where the Z06 emblem is on the US models), and ridiculous looking parking lights in the head light housings.

And yes, another $50 here and there actually DOES impact bottom line.

I see a very obvious reason: When you're side-by-side with a car on the freeway with a lane in between it alerts you to the fact that the car you're next to is going to switch lanes. There've been many times when the side-mounted signal has prevented two cars from trying to simultaneously move into the same lane. I'm obviously not alone in seeing their value since there's an increasing number of new cars being built with them.

I like idea of the turn signals in the outside mirror-housings, and the "turn arrows" in the mirrors themselves
(so others behind you see them). I've seen the latter on quite a few vehicles of later-vintage.

And like Mike mentioned, it is nice to be able to see what other peoples intentions are when traveling on the freeway.

But ... to me there's a huge difference between the ones that are nicely integrated into the mirrors and the ones that look like a cheap bolt-on.
And yes, I know the aftermarket "turn arrows" as well, which look like a pretty good compromise. But in Europe they are not sufficient to pass the regulations (since 2012, IIRC), because you can only see them from behind.
Here are a few examples of outside mirror turn signals that I like and that I dislike, from an aesthetic standpoint:
Audi A7
KIA Sportage
Mercedes S Class
aftermarket "arrows" (Camaro)
C7 Corvette export model
C7 Corvette domestic model
And then something else, related to the mirrors ...
If you take a look at the last two pictures, you will see the difference in size an shape between the two!
Here's a remark by Kirk Bennion on this:
'For instance, Corvette designers found through CFD that adjusting the shape of the side mirrors by as little as a single millimeter impacted the smoothness and direction of the airflow over the ’14 Stingray’s body ..'. Source: 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray - Like A Knife.
The mirrors on the domestic cars are functional and look beautiful.
The mirrors on the export models, what are those ... The ears of a monkey???

I happen to like these side mirrors, and if they folded like others car manufacture do, would love it lot more.
