Default Z51 Silver Wheels - rock nicks

I've only put on about 400 miles so far but already noticing quite a few
what I assume are rock nicks on the leading edge of each spoke. Any ideas on prevention or just let it ride and re-powder coat in a year or two. I assume the black wheels would have the same issue but possibly not show up as much. The roads here in Wisc are full of small gravel each spring and these tires pick up and throw them all. Thanks.

My Z51 wheels have lots of these rock nicks. Poor powder coat quality is you ask me,

It's just paint, not powdercoat.
You might try a coat of clear plasidip to protect them...

That might be a really good option. Thanks.

This is not an I-told-you-so reply, but mine will be a DD, so no sticky Z51 tires or painted rims for me. I expect to be replacing the base painted rims early on.

I have 1,600 miles on my black Z51 wheels they are looking old real quick with the the gravel and rock nicks n chips...I sealed the wheels and waxed them a few times it didn't help protect them .would after market wheels hold up better ? I was also thinking of having my body shop paint the stock wheels carbon flash....has anyone done that?

Thanks for the heads up on nicks - not good - the C7 seems to be a very delicate car - lot of upkeep

Have you installed the GM splash guards?

For the life of me I don't understand why the Corvette doesn't come with powder coated wheels.

GM . . wake up.

I guess I was thinking the same thing when I ordered the car and chose the no cost option on wheels, that I would replace them. But I
kind of like them once I got em.

Has anyone tried Opti-coat? I know it is good stuff for brake dust accumulation prevention etc. I wonder if its thick enough to prevent chips.

I'll start a "fun with Plastidip" thread tomorrow when I get it out in the sun. The anthracite is an almost perfect match to my Cyber stripes so it should look good...

I wondered that. I am surprised better options are not on the market yet.
