CB and 18 wheelers going the opposite direction, along with a Fuzz Buster on the dash, make for some high speed fun.
Umm... yeah, you know...
like 65 in a 55 mph zone

Guys... Do you have a phone? Do you have internet on that phone? Then download Zello. Tada. Problem solved.
Use it on my cruises. Perfectly fine.

This thread is a zombie! 3/21/2014 and it's baaaaack! Back in 16... Back in 18... Back in 19! More lives than a cat!
We use the GMRS/FRS radios tuned to channel 7. My license plate frame is my antenna. It is hooked to a HAM radio in the car so "breaker breaker 19, how about a smokey report" doesn't constantly ring in your ears.

Installed a stubby tunable antenna on the roof where the interior light was located that allowed the cable to be hidden in the light, side and molding across the window. Also recall the Z Club News showed a way to mount the CB set on the roof! Can still feel my arm going numb from holding the bracket in place for about 6 minutes as the 5 minute epoxy cured! Held find and mic hung down on a coiled cord!
The antenna looked great as I had spray painted the base to match the car. All was fine until I raised the hatch and it hit the mount! Removed cut, filed a large notch into the plastic base. and repainted - all was fine and sold it with the car!
PS: Regardless of it being an old post, folks are still using CB's as are truckers! Talked to one and asked why at the local truck stop! Just not using that one channel we did in the '70's!
The Small Tunable Antenna Looked Better Than A Large Whip!
