Why did you buy a Stingray?
We talk quite a bit about styling and yeah, that's important.
The color and looks of the car is just cake though. The meat and potatoes of the stingray is the driving experience. The feel of the steering, the ride, the turn in, the improved cornering, the increased torque, the whole feel of the drive is a big difference over the c6.
Even if the vette wasn't beautiful, I'd probably still have bought it. I wanted a purpose designed and built car that focused on the driving experience for the driver. I got it.
Do you like driving your Stingray?

I ordered for the full package but I'd have to say the performance attributes were the biggest attraction. There are a couple of appearance items (that have been beat to death) that I might have done a little differently but not a big deal at all now that I have the actual car. Overall I think it is an awesome looking car. Can't speak much about the driving experience yet as it has been all interstate driving to get the car home. Will hit the fun roads when the weather clears and experience some of that performance I went for!

A brand new z51 with mrc exactly how I wanted it had a price of 65k
A 2010-11 Nissan gtr with 20-30k miles on it has a price of roughly 60-65k
I was going to buy a gtr but in the end the c7 looks better and it's brand new for the same price !
So far after 1800 miles I don't regret my choice.

The latest and greatest technology. Love the look, too! First car I ever decided to purchase without actually driving. I got to sit in the car this past summer, at Carlisle. After reading all the positive driving reviews, I placed my order. Should be assembled within the next two or three weeks.

I wanted a fun car in the 60K range.....had to be a Chevy or a Ford because I can access and tune their ECUs, which rules out GTR or other options like it. Plus I have had Vettes and Camaros (quite a few of them) and just sort of like them in general, familiar with them.
So ZL1 or GT500....ZL1 just too heavy, if it was under 3500 I probably would have gone with it instead. GT500 interior is just a piece of crap and outweighs the extra power.
So weight, looks, and interior quality (at this price point) are what swayed me from my other two potential choices.

I have always liked Corvettes, and have had several C3's and still have my 80. Looked on and off at a new C6, while the performance was there, the interior was not up to the standards of a 55K car, and the looks just did not grab me.
The C7 the looks just reached out and grabbed me and said I had to have the car. However I would not and did not order until I sat in one to see the interior really was up to standards of a 60K car.
So for me it was Fantastic looks and outstanding performance, bang for the buck.

For me it was the combination looks and performance. I loved the looks of the Stingray from the first time I saw it on the Internet. After driving one I placed my order.

I buy a new Corvette every 50 years. My last Vette is a Riverside Red C-2, (64) roadster, 327/365 4 speed close ratio manual (which I'm still driving.) 1964 + 50 years = 2014, so as you can see, I had to get a new one!
My C-7 is a Torch Red convertible, manual (of course.)I've tried to put my order in for a 2064 Corvette when I picked up my C-7 in early January, but the dealer says it was a little early to submit the order.
So far so good, and my plan seems to be working out for me.

It was four things. The exterior is distinctive and aggressive, the interior is gorgeous, performance and ride are exhilarating, the level of technology and integration spoke to the geek in me.
