I waxed mine the first week I got it and after 3 months have waxed it 4 times and polished it twice.I went with Adams for both wax and polish but everyone is different and I am sure there are other excellent choices. If my Red Vette is not showing the reflection like a mirror when someone looks at it than I am not happy.

Wow I always thought you were suppose to wait a while on new paint. Ok I will look for adams. Haven't had many new cars because I just hate the depreciation hit. Would have bought c7 used if I could have.

That hasn't been true for decades. Paints are now baked on and they're fully cured long before they reach you.

Default Wait a month

I picked mine up at the Corvette Museum and they told me a month, however, since it had been two weeks since it was built, they said two weeks would be enough. Then I had some custom paint applied when I got it home and the paint shop (who specializes in high ind cars such as Lexus, Ferrari, Lambo, etc.) also said to wait a month Waiting can't hurt.

Virgin Car? Liquid Glass it! Liquid Glass stays on and protects with a wet look with multi EASY thin coats!

Others will chirp in but it is a great choice!
My Blade silver LOOKS WET and VERY GLOSSY!

It's not important what mfr you choose, they are all good if they are a major player. It's what you do..." Wash and wax" is dead.....

It's:
Clay
POLISH. - the magic step
Seal - with sealant
Then wax if you want some depth but not necessary....

Why "clay bar" a new car finish when your going to polish it?
No sense in this!
Polish is good idea. Mine was pretty good Factory. I just went ahead and did two coats of glass and the blade silver has so much depth and shine total wet look.
Looked like the chrome car.
I'd get a picture but it's rainy now and it needs a bath!

- Wash with alkaline soap (dish washer soap)
- Clay bar. Will not have environmental contaminant but I did have some clear coat overspray (dry spray).
- Wash again
- 1 coat of Ammo Skin; let set overnight
- 1 coat of Ammo Skin the next morning.

Wash and dry weekly with Griot's Car Wash and Ammo Hydrate.

Claying a car gets all of the contaminants that are embedded in the paint out. Wash your car as best you can , slip a sandwich baggie or grocery bag over your hand and rub your paint on the roof or hood you will feel those contaminants. Clay the car in a 12" x 12" area, now feel it. The trick to using the clay bar is making sure the surface stays wet. Mothers sells a great lil kit....enjoy your rub down

given all the reports on dealers here, id say (but did not do) the day you take it home. wash, wash again, clay, polish. get rid of all the dealer crap and start off at least with a good basic polished, clean car.

Mine gets waxed the first week of every month. I clay it the first week of June and the first week of December.

Waxing often is not bad for the car and claying should be done right before the seasons change.
