2015 Corvette Stingray 8-speed paddle shift auto transmission detailed
Chevrolet is giving the 2015 Stingray Corvette a new transmission option that is an 8-speed paddle shift automatic transmission. When this transmission was first announced, some were disappointed that it wasn’t a dual-clutch unit like you find on many high-end sports cars from Europe. Chevy says that people shouldn't be worried about the performance of this paddle shift transmission, it rivals the shift times that you get from the best dual-clutch designs according to GM.

What drmustang said! This is great news. GM had been saying they needed time to get the 8 speed set up for the 2015 Z06 and would not put that tranny in the base 2015 Stingray? That sounded a bit strange, I mean once the basic tranny issues are resolved for the Z06 what more is needed to get it in the 2015 base Stingray as well. Sounds like that is what they are going to do. Sweet! Is it too early to order a 2015 8 speed Z51 Stingray?
