How often do use use your A6 paddle shifters?
I very likely will order the A8 after driving stick for more than 40 years, and expect that once the novelty of the paddle shifters wears off, I'll probably get lazy and complacent, and let the computer do it most of the time. Has this been your experience?

I use mine every time I drive. I like having the control of when the shift occurs. I do the same with the '05 A4 I have, which doesn't have paddle shifters, just the shifter in the console.
It's like having a stick without the left foot/knee issues! Fun with no hassles!

Burning Brakes
About 10% of the time.
But when I do, I enjoy the hell out of it. Autocross, canyon roads, and sometimes just feeling froggy on the way home from work.
Nice to have the option.

When you want more control, just put it in "M" (manual), and you are in control.

I do. Nearly every time I drive it. BTW. The A6 is much better in my 2014 than 2008 A6.

Always used them in my C6. Same with the new one.

More often than I thought I would....
Usually use them for downshifting even during break in. I keep it in "D" mode and just downshift. This way when I accelerate it goes back into Drive mode.
Lot more "user friendly" than the "paddle shifters" on my 5th Gen Camaro, which were actually buttons.

not very much although I did today. I think I would use them more on a track day than on a really twisty road. soo many different turns and speeds the auto is sport or track is pretty damn smart it even downshifts aggressively. it otherwords it is hard to beat. but they are nice to have when you want them.
