I was going to go buy an atomic orange z06 the other weekend but decided to just spend the cash on a newer gen vette.
That lime rock green is very ugly! And yellow too... Can't decide between Laguna blue and torch red for my order, but if they had atomic orange, there'd be no choice at all!

As a current owner of a 2008 AO I can say with accuracy that this car gets a ton of complements every day.. Looks great all the time especially in sunny Georgia.
A review of end of model year statistics shows that the AO color was selected by 6 to 7% of buyers during the 2007 thru 2011 model year runs.. Inferno Orange replaced AO in 2012 and 2013 and it was not so nice..
I have ordered a C7 and had AO been available that is what I would have ordered again...
Remember when GM dropped Torch Red? Corvette buyers need to let GM know that they want AO and they will get it..

I'm calling someone at GM Media for confirmation. All we know so far is that the new gray is officially called "Shark Gray".
"Color choices of Torch Red, Black, Arctic White, Blade Silver and Shark Gray – a new color for 2015"

Thanks, Rusty. I have called Monte Doran, but no response thus far, but from what we've gathered, it appears Daytona Sunset Orange is coming to the 2015 color palette. Also thanks to Bill17601.

It was announced by Harlan Charles at the bash this morning; I was there and heard it with my own ears. It will be called Daytona Sunrise (not Sunset) Orange Metallic. I spoke with Harlan one-on-one afterward and he told me that it will be somewhat lighter and brighter than the former DSOM.

Orange Returns to the Corvette Color Palette for 2015
This morning, I began gathering data to write a post about how orange was a missing hue in the C7 Corvette paint scheme, but as I was scuba diving through the forums, news began to break from Corvette Forum members attending the 2014 National Corvette Museum Bash. According to forum member “mpuzach” (a.k.a. Mike), orange is coming back to the Corvette for 2015.
More on the blog.

As an FYI... my buddy's son had his car painted a Sunrise Orange.. and when he showed Harlan a pic... he said it looks very close to this orange.. burnt hues but much lighter and brighter and that great metallic flake when in the sun:
Although its not BMW M3 limerock orange, or a lamborghini super bright orange... IMO it looks better than both DSOM (too dark when not in sun and reddish), and AO... which was too copper and not enough orange.
