Finally! I did a side-by-side comparison of 2LT / 3LT black interiors

We all know the differences between 2LT and 3LT, including Mulan vs. Napa leather, different distribution of the secondary color, standard navigation in 3LT, etc. What was less clear (to me at least) was whether or not there are obvious differences in the look and feel of the 2LT and 3LT solid black interiors. Here at the bash I was able to do a side-by side comparison; the answer is a resounding "Yes!"
But all that said, the Napa 3LT/3LZ leather is beautiful. The owner may be the only one who notices the difference, but we owners are the most important, right?

Just FYI, if you want red or yellow stitching on a black interior, it requires the 3LT/LZ option.

This post confirms what I already know..I'm an unsophisticated dolt. I actually like the look of the 2LT grain and would never consider paying $9,450 for the 3LT to look at smooth leather.
But that's just me. Glad it is available for those who like it.

Just to clarify, for 2017 3LT is a $9,745 option and 2LT is $4,455, a difference of $5,290. In addition, PDR / Navigation is standard with 3LT but optional at $1,795 with 2LT. Thus, a 3LT is just $3,495 more than a 2LT with PDR / Navigation.

It's why these are called options...several for everyone's tastes / priorities / budgets. I compared 2LT and 3LT and when I sat in the 3LT I was like "sold!". It was huge difference for me in terms of interior quality and is more finished, imho, with the suede. With that said, it's pretty damn pricey, but for me it was worth it.

Funny - I came out of a 14 3lt . I always loved the smell. I picked up a 1lz and noted what an earlier poster said - it smells like chemicals. Better with the top down but man , it's pretty pungent. Looks and feels fine compared to the Napa but I miss that rich smell. Of course this generally fades when the right pedal is depressed

Despite not normally caring for the alcantara/suede, I did actually like it on the pillars on the 3LZ. And I could notice a slight difference in the feel of the leather. Really, the compelling reason for me to get 3LZ is to get the factory red stitching, which is another ~$400 over the 3LZ surcharge. Just not sure it's worth the extra cash to me, but it looks amazing!

I bought the 3LT because I wanted the 2 tone dash and it had all of the options I wanted included in the package. When I got the car, I began to really appreciate how nice the interior is. (esecially the pseudo suede interior appointments) One of the big gripe about Corvettes in past generations has been the cheapy interior. I feel like the C7 has succesfully addressed this, in either package. Different strokes for different folks, but for me the 3LT is what I preferred and I don't really give a darn about resale (I am not planning to sell it any time soon) or what anyone else thinks about it. I also did not mind paying a few grand extra to get what I wanted. Since our car is mainly a road tripper, the creature comforts are more important to us. If I ever decide to auto cross or race, I will buy a well worn C5 or C6 to play with.

I wonder which one will wear better and look best five years from now. I was reading on another car forum about leatherette seats and a lot of guys were saying they wore better and looked better after a few years of use than real leather. I think both look really nice and dont think the average Joe could tell the difference if not side by side.

Thank you for posting those pics, this has been discussed many times on this forum but I can't remember anyone ever posting pics showing such an obvious difference. Do you know whether the seats are identical in leather quality between 2LT and 3LT or is there the same difference with them as well?

I wanted most of the options in the 2LT, didn’t really care about the options in the 3LT. Perfectly happy with my loofa sponge leather.

My car is a 2016 2LT Stingray with two-tone red seats and all the stitching in the interior is red. I too wanted the red stitching and it apparently comes with the two-tone seats.

BTW, for those who re still on the fence I ended up ordering 2LT with navigation. After owning the car for more than a year, I can honestly say that I have no regrets. While the all black 3LT is unquestionably nice, the 2LT is of such high quality that it's very easy to like. It has the same genuine stitching as the 3LT and presents itself very well. If you're going with all black, a consideration should be whether or not you want the 3LT's alcantara vs. the 2LT's fabric trim. I like alcantara in an Audi but not so much in a Corvette. YMMV.
I like it on the seats.
Don't like it on the steering wheel. Definitely don't like the lumps on the steering wheel, but I think they're on all trim levels.
Seems ok on the visors/pillars, no preference.
