As promised I finally got a hold of Rich at Abel Chevrolet where the supposedly factory painted Inferno Orange was ordered from and delivered to. Rich indicated he was not aware of any such car delivered to the dealership and as having ordered a C7 himself said it was not possible to order a C7 in a non stock factory paint color. He said Chevy trucks had an over-ride feature where you can order a truck in a different color from the stock color palette but that the Corvette DOES NOT have such an over-ride feature.
So as of now the guy with the Inferno Orange was full of BS.

I think it is awful looking IMHO.
BMW has individual where you can get custom paint jobs on cars, there have been some pretty cool colors throughout the years. I remember there was one guy who wanted an M6 is a custom color with custom interior and was able to order it from the factory.

Of all the Oranges GM has painted Corvette's over the decades Atomic Orange is the most pleasing to the eye.
And I hope this is what GM has in store for the C7.
