Buying later?

Buying later?
I'm not ready to commit to buying a 2015 now so that I can drive it for a month and put it away for the winter. With over a hundred buyers lined up to buy at the only dealer I've heard about who is giving supplier discount at an unknown as yet MSRP, it seems like it might be a good idea to wait till winter to buy my 2015. Disregarding that I could die and never get to enjoy a C7, what do you think?

I was facing the same dilemma. I solved it by buying a 2014 yesterday. I pick it up Monday. No waiting, no possible constraints, and I knew the MSRP.

The only major guarantees right now on a 2015 are that you're going to wait longer, pay more, and have 2 different colors to choose from and possibly an 8-speed automatic. A few other minor things, but certainly not earth-shattering.
I'd go 2014 if you can find one that you'd like. There's been no truly major "first year car" issue that would scare me off, so I pulled the trigger on one. I feel like I got a pretty solid deal on it, too.

It seems suspicious a dealership is offering 7K off from an unknown MSRP. But there will be other dealers. A lot of people put down refundable deposits now and if they find a better deal or a faster delivery they go somewhere else. Wait if you want, I would get it when I can. Cold doesn't mean you can't drive it. You just don't want to drive it in the snow and salt.

If you know you want a 2015 I'd get my best deal at supplier if you can find it and park it. There could easily be another price increase on the 2015s if you wait closer to Spring. It would suck to park it over the winter, but it will be ready and waiting when the weather breaks.

I plan on buying my 2015 in late winter/early spring-my only fear is that I will get it near when the 2016 info just comes out. I would hate to pick up my 2015 and find out that the 2016s have another 25 hp or some desirable change.

I would only wait for the 2015 if you are getting an auto. To me the A8 is worth waiting for. I would just place an order with a high allocation dealer in Dec/Jan and you should have it in April when the weather starts getting nice.
If you don't care about the A8 then just buy one on a lot now and enjoy it for the next 3 months.

Live for today, not for tomorrow.
I personally have a 2015 on order. I'm willing to wait because I already had a C7 that I just got rid of and have a C6 Vert to hold me over until the 15' gets here.
I decided to wait for the 2015 due to the fact that no dealers are willing to deal on a 2014 Z51.
Secondary reasons are because of the add options such as machined faced wheels, PDR and the 8 Speed (up in the air if I want it) As well as resale, you're looking at a easy $2k+ for each model year for the first 5 years or so. This is only a temporary car until the Z06 comes out!

.....and while paying it off start saving some more each month toward your next Corvette ('15+) down the road. By then you should have enough remaing equity in your current corvette ('14) plus a nice kitty too. You may find that your '14 C7 will keep you satisfied until '16/'17 or even later.
My next Corvette will be a C8 without major changes to future C7s.

This. There will always be something better and newer that comes out, whether it be a couple months, couple years, etc. If you want one, just buy one now!

I'm going to get an auto so the 2015 with the 8 speed is going to be my choice rather than buy a 2014. Price increases won't affect me, it's more important to get what I want. I've got my low mileage C6 in the meantime and I haven't quit enjoying it just because there's a C7.

Buying later
It will be a cold day in !!!! when I stand in line to purchase a car.
When the order line is 4 to 6 weeks, no constraints and improved quality most likely 2017.
My 2 cents
