It did not say that is the premium, that is just the deposit. The adder to list is undefined.

I guess I feel the dealer should make a reasonable profit but at MSRP that is a very reasonable profit. Going above is being greedy and shows the true color of a dealer---especially the one mentioned above.
I guess they can do it being they are the largest dealer in the state.

The salesman told me that they are offering a deal to anyone who wanted to be number one on their list---all you have to do is put up $20,000 which is non refundable and your name would be moved up to number 1.
The $20,000 would be applied to the cost of the new ZO6 when it came in. He said this offer is first come first serve. He further told me that they had no pricing available but he said he was instructed to tell anyone interested that the 2015 ZO6's they get will be going for over MSRP.
I guess it pays to work with one of the forum dealers which I hope to contact soon.
A non refundable $20,000 deposit is one thing. A non refundable $20,000 deposit on an unestablished price is another thing. What if the dealer wants $200,000? You pay $200,000 or bye-bye deposit.

[QUOTE=arcticblast;1587326143]And I have a bridge to sell you.........[/QUOTE

My bridge will cost more than yours. For just $_______non refundable deposit you could be first on the list. Deposit amount to be determined.

Why do people care?

The only person that should be concerned about this is the person paying the $20,000 for the 1st place position. Its there money and their car. If you don't *like* that this dealership is selling the 1st position, then find another dealer to purchase from. Yes, its that simple!

I love how 99% of the people on this forum scream for Capitalism. But then immediately start bytching when it doesnt work in their favour.

Very well said, I wonder what many would sell their waterfront property for? The appraised value? I don't see many saying, "I understand you'd like to pay me 2 mill, but appraisal is 1 mill so that's all I need."

The zo6 is going to be made of unobtainium, and many will price it that way, good luck to them....

I'm always amazed why people fight to be one of the first to own a new production model. You would think the first buyers would get a discount as they are the ones who will be the guinea pigs. I'm very happy to come in much later, when all the start up issues have been resolved, supply and demand is in balance, restraints are over, and pricing has reached a reasonable equilibrium. In the C7 Z06, we can expect to see the usual buffoons paying huge markups to MSRP, so they can go to the head of the list with the normal startup complaints. Hey it's free entertainment.

It's the rockstar factor, the ego driver. This car makes it easy for people do that because its so nice and somewhat rare that they are almost guaranteed to get comments and people that drool over the car. If you wait a few yrs that goes away as the car has been around for some years and something new has taken its place as the new wow factor gotta have it

This is why I will wait a few years or so until the hype goes down and I'm buying a brand new Z for way under MSRP....ridiculous this is.

The dealer could then make up any price, say $250,000, keep the 20K when that first moron declines, and then bump the number two guy up the list to pay MSRP (or whatever their normal gouging upcharge would be).

I've got refundable deposits at three different dealers...all guaranteed at MSRP. Even at MSRP, I know I'm taking a bigger hit than I might if I waited a year. But, it's time to retire the ZR, and I figure it's just the cost of doing business. Cars are my vice...

i has question.

would this constitute a legal contract?

20k up front, for item that will be x msrp and seller will then add something on top of that not specificied?

i assume 20k down, sale at msrp or sale at msrp + x defined dollars would constitute a legal contract.

but 20k down, msrp + whatever we want if and if you dont pay you dont get your 20k back would not be a valid contract and you could take them to court to get your money back.

Is the C7 Z06 really gonna be that much different than a loaded up Stingray, except for the big boost in power ? Not to minimize the fun factor that will be part of the 650 HP/ 650TQ the Z06 will be packing, but no way would it be worth it to me to kiss the A-- of these Jac---fs peddling the Z06's at these ridiculous up charges. Anybody who falls for this nonsense, is a complete idiot and deserves what they get.
Hard to argue with that.
