$20,000 will get you the Number 1 spot
The new ZO6 has generated a lot of interest. I have a 2014 C7 and was interested in the ZO6 so I called the largest dealer in the Des Moines, Iowa area. Needless to say I was told they have a large list of those wanting one.
The salesman told me that they are offering a deal to anyone who wanted to be number one on their list---all you have to do is put up $20,000 which is non refundable and your name would be moved up to number 1.
The $20,000 would be applied to the cost of the new ZO6 when it came in. He said this offer is first come first serve. He further told me that they had no pricing available but he said he was instructed to tell anyone interested that the 2015 ZO6's they get will be going for over MSRP.
I guess it pays to work with one of the forum dealers which I hope to contact soon.

Is it a ZO6 or a Z06 for 2015?

How crazy is that. You can pay 20,000 in a non refundable deposit to be number 1 to pay over MSRP AND you don't even know how much over MSRP you will have to pay to get the car. For crying out loud, even though it 's the latest and greatest, it's just another supercharged corvette. Is the C7 Z06 really gonna be that much different than a loaded up Stingray, except for the big boost in power ? Not to minimize the fun factor that will be part of the 650 HP/ 650TQ the Z06 will be packing, but no way would it be worth it to me to kiss the A-- of these Jac---fs peddling the Z06's at these ridiculous up charges. Anybody who falls for this nonsense, is a complete idiot and deserves what they get.

LOL--like some dealer in Iowa is going to get any preference over true large volume dealers (like those here) for an allocation. Cracks me up. They will never see a Z06 allocation next year...

You got it, after Kerbeck gets 75-100 allocations, Chriswell maybe 50-60, same with MacMulkin etc, sometime in May or June this Iowa dealer might get his first allocation. Don

I don't care any more if they charge over list or not - that is there business and it's really no different than discounting below list. But to say that they are going to move you up in line over people already on their list would **** me off. I get that they may not even have anyone else on a list yet and it's probably total bullish*t, but either way the dealer is a scum bag.

A $20,000 premium? Great deal for a total sucker who either doesn't know or remember anything about about previous generations Z06 pricing history. The C6 Z06s had nearly a $20,000 discount.

You forgot to tell us the most important part. How much over MSRP???? The 20K really means very little if you are 100% positive that you want a ZO6. But the part about over msrp would concern anyone unless you have unlimited funds to spend on it.

How much of that $20K gets credited to your purchase and how much lines the dealer's pockets? The dealer already indicated the OTD price was going to be MSRP+, how much is the "+".
If the OTD price is MSRP and the $20K gets credited to the purchase 100% then it's a no brainer. If it's MSRP + $20K and NONE of the $20K is credited against MSRP then someone is paying $20K to be the first on the block. Some have the money and $20K is chump change, the dealer is trying to land one of those whales.

If I had to be one of the first to have the new Z06 and I had $20K to burn, I don't think I'd give it to some salesman in Winchestertonfieldville, Iowa because he promised me he'd put me at the top of his list.
