Trading a 2014 for a 2015
What kind of price difference should I expect If I am trading in a RED 2014 C7 with Z51 and 1lt package, Magnetic Suspension, NAV, and red brakes and Red seats? TO make it easy, I want the exact same car, with the MANUAL transmission. I have decided I dont like the automatic.

Your '14 is a used car that is depreciating. Trading it for essentially the same car one year newer doesn't mitigate that or make it worth more. Most of the depreciation happens in the first year so trading a one year old car won't be pretty. Better to sell it and buy the '15 outright.

I think if you sell it privately you will do very well. If you attempt to trade it in at a dealer for a new 2015 Corvette, you better bring condoms lol.
FWIW I just checked the tax laws in VA. And VA is one of the states that does not credit your tradein towards your next vehicle purchase when buying a car. So there is no tax savings to be had in VA by trading a car and buying a new one.. vs. privately selling a car and buying a new one.
Hell try taking it to Carmax to see what they will offer for it. I think they will give a very competitive offer considering the "true market value" for a C7 is still very, very high.

Besides being a year old, your 2014 has the out dated A6. It will be competing with the new 2015 A8. Another reason for a hit on the trade in value. Since you are switching to a manual tranny, maybe a left over 2014 might be a consideration for you since you are not trading to get the new A8 tranny.

You need to weigh all the factors. If you sell it and purchase the next one outright, you will pay sales tax on the whole purchase price. On a trade, you will save some tax. Selling it and going in with a new purchase may also get you a better price with some off the retail. Just weigh all the factors. I did, as I traded my 14 for a 15 about 2 weeks ago. Now I am vetteless until the new one arrives.

I doubt it would be that bad. You could order now and trade the car in now at the dealer. That should give you a decent price now but that will go way down in a few months. Good luck.

Ill sell it on my own... thanks guys. I put it on Autotrader and KBB. Looks like there arent many z51's for sale, and I listed mine as the cheapest one.

Take your car by Carmax, I bet their offer will be very strong.

I agree with selling the car yourself - you should be able to get a better price for it that way than trading it in to a dealer.

You are forgetting the fact that he was originally talking about trading it in, and while you may not have seen a C7 priced in the 40s yet, rest assured that a lot of dealers might only offer that small amount as a trade in.

personally the "hair cut" your going to take wouldn't be worth it to me. I'd keep the cat at least another year and see what year 3 brings to the Stingray. Maybe GM will offer something in 2016 that really makes the cost worth it.
But as other' shave said I'd try selling it yourself. Considering GM started offering GM supplier! CUT/Military discounts on a first year Vette really killed pre-owned pricing. You can't have it both ways.

If you bought your pre-price increase it may not be that bad.
I'm looking to move from a coupe to a convertible. I bought my Couple pre-price increase and there are discounts/supplier pricing on even Z51 convertibles. Combining those two together and it may work out.
If I did not have tax involved I think it could come out pretty good but mine is a Z51/M7 so unless your getting the PDR not much difference in 14/15.
