Default Exhaust drone at highway speed with NPP on 2014 - yes or no?

There was a lot of complaining over exhaust drone with the NPP option on the C6. So I didn't get it... what's the take on 2014?

There was never a problem with drone on the c6 unless the fuse was pulled and baffles were always open. When used as intended, no drone at all.

1,600 miles this week. You hear nothing once the trans shifts up.

The drone comes from operating the exhaust OPEN all the time. At freeway speeds there will be drone, that's why GM designed it to close at certain RPM's.

Of course there is always the "old school" guys that want to hear the exhaust even when the motor is not running

So leave it in the full auto mode and no drone if that bothers you.

No. I drove 2200 miles in 4 days with the NPP in quiet mode most of the time and it was very pleasant. There's much more road noise than exhaust

No one talks about the standard stock exhaust? The stock exhaust lets you know the engine is pulling power, not what I would call sedan like. Not as loud as the NPP version, but there is an element of engine attitude. There is no control of the sound loudness, except with the throttle. While cruising the system is quite until you get on the power. I am quite pleased with the sound and will stay with the standard exhaust on my next order.

No drone. Even on Sport and Track Mode. Most of the time on the highway you will be in 4 cyl mode which is quieter. Totally different than the C6.

There is no drone but with the top on and windows up when you accelerate in 7th gear there is a massive amount of drone.

Shifting to 6th fixes it, its just under about 2200rpm it does it.

I had drone in my C6 because I pulled the fuse. On my C7, I set the exhaust to always open. No drone on the highway, but not as good a sound as the C6 with NPP open. Both cars are manuals.

I drive in Sport all the time, no drone.
In my C6 installed a simple toggle switch to bypass the fuse when desired. If left open there was a drone, but closed so it operated as designed - no drone.
