Front grill mod iteration #3....
You guys probably think I have nothing better to do than to fiddle with this car! But I had another idea last night, so today I just had to try it. I added more CF vinyl to the uprights in the grill to complete the look a bit more. This took about an hour, but was quite easy once I figured out a couple things with the cutting of the vinyl. If you want to try this yourself here are some tools that help with the task. You'll need the pick tool to remove your mistakes and start over... not shown are scissors or fresh single edge razor blade.
If you have a lift, get your car to this height....way easier to work at this level because you need to really look close at what you are doing.
I did each upright individually after roughing out 10 blanks....the 5 across the top are shorter than the 5 along the bottom. Do a test fit around each upright to determine the actual width and height you need...they are different because as you go along the grill the depth changes.
-------------
The center upright requires that you shape the vinyl like this:
You'll see why when you get to this point.
----------------------
Here are several views of the final appearance....I like the completed look now....it all comes together from a design standpoint. I hope Harlan agrees!
You probably noticed the fang vinyl mod. This seems way too busy to me, and I will remove them soon. I just wanted to show you the result of almost an hour trying to get 2 that looked the same....lots of trimming and starting over even though I managed to rough out a template...there isn't a straight line anywhere on this car!. If you like this mod, just buy the ones sold here by our vendors.
Here's the crude template;
Passenger side:
Driver's side:
I think I am done with grill mods for a while...time to move on to splitters and sideskirts...and HRE wheels, which are on the way!

The grill looks great. Not sold on the fangs.

Gotta agree with above. I like the grill, a bit more when it was before the vertical pieces, but not thrilled with the fangs.
What really wowed me is your garage. Dang I wish I had a lift like yours.

Give us one more pulled back shot of the entire grill and fangs, please!

IMHO, the CF on the fangs make them look like steps with "non skid" on the treads. I like the CF on the grille also but, I think it's overwhelming in a closeup.

Thanks...an oldtimer once told me "you're not a real carguy until you own a lift". I must say it is one of the best 'mods' you can do for yourself and the car.

I'm another with the crowd here. Looks good but I would undo the fang stickers asap -- those obviously just look like stickers, and when you make that statement, you call attention to the grill also being fake
