I plan on using it on other cars also. The extra $200 would be well worth it to me. The larger one will handle my Silverado and Trail Blazer also.

I need to go look at the website, but this looks like its light enough to take to the track. It would be better than having to use a floor jack when doing brake work and tire changes in the paddock.

I think I might be in on one of these. I have been tempted to get the BendPak like ModShack has, but not having access to things like the exhaust has kept me from buying. This setup would let you work on the car.

It hasn't proven to be a problem...I have a set of Raceramp 12" cribs...
When I need to do that (which is rare as most of the important stuff is at the front and back), I just raise the car, drop onto the cribs and drop the lift out of the way. Plenty of room for doing any centerline work you need to do....

Having a full time lift in place is a real convenience. I park the car on the ramps. When I want to put it in the air it takes less than a minute to set the arms. No set-up hassle..
It's worked for me for years on lots of cars...FWD and RWD..

True. I have RaceRamps and Cribs too and didn't even connect the dots to use them together.

My thoughts exactly. I will use it for my C7 and also my other cars that weigh more than 3500lbs. It is worth a few hundred dollars to upgrade to the BL 5000.

I thought of buying race ramps. By the time I purchase 2 sets of race ramps I would be into it $600 or $700 I still would not solve the problem of removing my wheels for various tasks.

I will not track my car but the BL 5000 is handy for the shop and easy to get out of the way as it will not take up much space.

We could save a $100 dollars by doing a group buy but not sure I can get 8 forum members to commit.

Regards

I have never been involved in a group buy but if someone sets it up I am in for this.

I was thinking the same thing, but the specs on these units has me puzzled. What kind of vehicles are they made to lift? The spacing for the lifting blocks is 35.5"-50.5". That may work well for a Corvette but the lifting points on 2 other vehicles I have are 59" and 60" apart. One of these is just a regular sedan (Accord). I guess I could just use it to lift on the unibody pinch weld...

Confusing post? Did your 4 post lift cost less than $1295, Can you hang your 4 post lift on hooks affixed to the side of your garage and store the tiny motor below it?

Some of us do not want to take up the room in our garage and spend the $$$ on a 4 post lift. Others track their cars or move a lot (military commitments) so portability is a must. Also, if you need to pull the wheels, they will need to be free and not used as the lifting points.

A hydraulic lift for this price is an great deal. It all depends on your mission.

If money and storage are the perimeters, a 4 post lift will not be the best option for most.

Respectfully

FYI... I have an EZCarlift which I purchased a couple years ago. Used it on my C6 and now on my C7. Very well built and very sturdy. Also, easy to store and takes up very little room.

Good luck!

Default QuickJack BL 5000 Group buy Update

I have had further dialog with Worksop Depot to try and put together a Group buy of 8 BL5000's. Their is a some logistics involved as the manufacturer will need to drop ship each BL 5000 to different addresses. Most likely be a time limit to get 8 people to commit (possibly a week or 2). When I get an update as to the feasibility, I will pass the info along.

I have no affiliation with either the distributor nor the manufacturer as I am a forum member with an interest in aquiring one of these products for myself.

Regards
Jim
