Hood out of alignment

Hood out of alignment
I took delivery of a C7 less than a month ago and just noticed the hood is a bit out of alignment. At the front, near the hinges on the driver side the hood is up when it is when it is closed. It took me a while to notice so it's not out a lot.
I looked at the hinge where it fastens to the hood and there are 2 bolts that look like all you would have to do is loosen them, tap the hood down a bit ( gently ) and re tighten.
Anyone had to do something like that?
Is it best to take it in?
On my end... I live an hour away and don't want to be told I need to drop it off for a week.

alignment/gap is easy enough to adjust...if you know what you're doing

That's exactly what I did. It's not hard...May take a few passes to get it perfect..

It's interesting, I can tell you that all of the hoods seem to be adjusted from the factory per car. The ones I've seen here have all been a little different. There are adjustments on the inside of the hood hinges, the latches, bump stops at the back, and also if you remove the bumper cover on the crash bar area.

Really--its called QUALITY CONTROL--if anything loosen it and make it look like S--t--than take it to the dealer--maybe they will give you 4 free oil changes--2014 and still the same crap!! Lets talk orange peel-!

Reviving this thread...
I have a 2017 GS. On the driver's side, I noticed the hood was higher than the fender but aligned well at the front and at the windshield. I adjusted (lowered) the center latch to align most of that side, and then needed to adjust the hood at the front hinge. After those adjustments, everything was fine, except the corner near the windshield was noticeably low - maybe 1/8" or 3/16". I unscrewed (lengthened) the rubber stop but it doesn't help. I think the hood is just not exactly the right shape and it is stiff enough to deform the rubber stop, rather than aligning properly.
Any hints on solving this? I'd strongly prefer to do it myself rather than have the dealer mess with it. And if I'm right, I wouldn't want a new/painted hood anyway.

I adjusted the hood and windshield corners to where they are good, and then shimmed up the fender with plastic C-shaped washers. This is actually how it is being done at the factory as well. There are 4 or 5 screws in the fender where it meets the hood. Loosen those and put the washers under the fender till it's at the right height.
I actually mentioned this to one of the GM quality engineers at Carlisle, and he mentioned they received some hoods from the manufacturer that were not as close in tolerance as they should have been... guess we both have one of that batch...
