If you want the NPP. What if you don't? Some folks prefer the aftermarket cat-backs.

I much prefer the ala carte plan for options. I hate bundling, it forces you to buy things you don't want/need. But with an unlimited budget I guess it doesn't matter.

So a car that would be $62K MSRP and you might be able to get for $60K would now be $63K, and maybe now you'd have to pay $60.2K (just as an arbitrary example). While the latter is slightly more expensive, it probably "feels" like a better deal to many shoppers while still allowing GM to make more money.

Regardless of whether or not that's their plan, it's kinda a downer. I'm aware of how the free market works, but as a potential consumer who's always admired the Corvette's amazing (and steady) pricing, it's upsetting to see the price go up so much so quickly.
I'm not sure if you are directing this comment to me or not, because I never indicated that dealers are going to print out a fake invoice to show customers. The $1K price increase is not all that much if one really wants the car that bad. But here in Canada because we are a small market only 3 % corvette sales GM raised the price of the 2015 C7 Z51 (most popular) and the convertible to $3,560. How is that for taking advantage of a loyal customer? Supply and demand is a live and well. Have a good one.

Are you actually complaining about this? And your preferred alternative is?

Can anybody say ...."supplier pricing"?
Supply and demand is what its all about. I agree $1K isn't a lot of an increase if one really wants the car that bad. Unfortunately here in Canada because we are a small market 3% corvettes sold GM sees fit to charge us $3,560 more for 2015 C7 Z51 pkg ( most popular) and the convertible. How do you like that for taking advantage of loyal customers? Have a good one.

A 1k price increase after doing a 2k increase at 2014 midyear - it just plain sucks. In the bigger picture, it would seem that an increase of this size now is no big deal. It's only approximately 1% to 1.5%, RIGHT? But it still sucks. I look at it this way, I have a specified budget for this car, the options, and the accessories I wanted to get from Chevy. The more the car goes up from Chevy, the less I spend with Chevy. Holy crap, they increased the Nav price by a grand just to have PDR. They should have offered Nav and Nav with PDR.

My issue with all this is what will happen when the additional models start to be released and prices keep rising as they are? I think that it won't be the bargain it was and the other models to be released will cost too much.

I ordered the new 2015, but want to see where the Z06 comes in. I think a mention of another model has just been completed but no info released yet. I am thinking that somewhere along the line, a Grand Sport is going to be offered. If increases don't slow down, I would hate to see the price of a GS in about 3 to 4 years (if they make one). That thing will cost what a C6 Z06 was going for and that is CRAZY.

I agree totally - which is now my strategy - while I am not yet retired, retirement is my immediate future, and a new C7 is going to be a retirement gift to myself, and I'm using my severance check to pay cash for it, so for each price increase, I'll be cutting options. The first option to go is Museum delivery - that in itself will save me several thousand dollars (by the time you add airfare, car rental, hotel, etc) - Next option to go will be going from Z51 to ZF1 - then we will see from there - just hope that it doesn't get down to where I just have a rolling chassis.

I guess all things in Texas are big? Your comments are laughable about price increases.

This I believe is the second price increase since the introduction. The good news is that this holds back depreciation on early 2014's.

Otherwise, there is nothing good here.

At $58K plus tax and license, I am probably priced out of the Z51 I wanted. Hopefully, the base car can hold up to my driving style.

I agree. What I don't understand is why everyone keeps saying a one thousand dollar increase. It was more!

I figured the demand would cause this increase but I still want the car. I wonder how close to sticker price would a dealer give a person on a 2014 stingray if the person traded it in on a Z06? I would guess $10,000 from sticker or more.

Maybe the $1,000.00 price increase is going to hire Billy Bob's Body Shop to fix the orange peel.

My guess is that this is the price GM wanted to have the entire time but they wanted to get people with unfilled 2014 Corvettes to get a chance at the old price, but that is only my guess.

I ordered my 2015 Jun 23. I was at 1100 at that point. I am still at 1100 today Aug 15. My dealer said I would have to pay the $1,000 increase because it had to be somewhere past 1100 by Aug 4. Is this true?

At the beginning of this thread, Dave from Kerbeck makes mention of the 1100 point being safe. I am going tomorrow to put the dealer on notice and get info. If it still is messed up, I am cancelling the order.

Corvette Z51 Coupe $58,000*

Corvette Z51 Convertible $63,000*

So it appears the 2015 models actually went up $1995 dollars and that is assuming the latest prices include $995 destination charge. It also appears the Z51 which includes the NPP is a better deal than the non-Z51.

I realize this has been

But GM is presently saying:

Thank you for contacting Chevrolet and for your interest in the 2015 Corvette! We appreciate the time you have taken to write us and we are delighted have the opportunity to assist you!

The 2015 Corvette builds on an award-winning foundation with new design elements, technology, and connectivity! The 2015 Corvette Stingray is scheduled to be available early fall 2014 and the 2015 Corvette Z06 is scheduled for early 2015. Please keep in mind that a start of production date has not been officially released, so you will need to check with your dealership when their individual allocation and ordering availability begins. It has not been announced when the Build and Price tool will be available but Chevrolet is working to have this feature available as soon as possible.

The Manufacturers Suggested Retail Prices that we have available of the different base models are listed below. The dealerships should have this information at this time. Please keep in mind that there is a destination freight charge of $995 and all prices provided represent the current MSRP and do not include tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional or dealer installed equipment.

2015 Corvette Stingray Coupe is $53,000.00
2015 Corvette Stingray Convertible is $58,000.00
2015 Corvette Stingray Coupe w/ Z51 is $58,000.00
2015 Corvette Stingray Convertible w/ Z51 is $63,000.00
---------------------------
So what is it for a Z51 coupe? $58,000 which includes freight or $58,000 + freight or $59,995

Two websites and a note from GM all with different prices for a 2015 Corvette. My bet is $59,995 but it would be nice if GM would just get their act together by not telling customers one thing and the Dealer something different.

As long as the dealer entered it as a customer order, you do not get hit by the increase.

Default price increase to follow your increase in wage?

in this economy i don't think we can say 1000 bucks is insignificant. many people would benefit greatly by that 1000 in their household. i work for myself and am well paid but i will take all of the thousands anybody has to spare. i am a capitalist and we must remember this is the system working at its best.

Price increases are pretty much inevitable. I hated to see the base price increase $1000, in addition to the packaging of the Nav and PDR essentially bumping the Nav price $1000. (I do not want the PDR but have to buy it since I want the Nav)

So the car I was planning to buy increased $2000. I knew the 8 speed auto would bump the price a bit (which was fine), but extra base price and Nav/PDR combo was unexpected (especially since they bumped the C7 price only a few months prior.

For the majority of us, a car that sells for more than the median US income is pretty much a luxury purchase and one (at least I do) have to seriously justify. The $2K extra I'm now spending could have went toward an extended warranty, insurance, next set of tires or whatever.

We certainly don't help the cause when saying the C7 is such a great bargain and worth $10K more than what GM is selling it for. I for one, think they keep their ear to ground (here and other places) and will charge whatever they think the market will bear. So bumping the base price another $1k was a calculation they made based on the feedback they get. I'm confident we will see more price increases as long as we continue to say the car is under-priced.

Just sayin.............

The resale demand/value for my 2006 C6 Base just went up - again!
