Blown up engine 5 month old Stingray

thanks for the encouragement. But, the underside was on fire and the front ride and undercarriage fried. I'm assuming I'm out over $20,000 or more in value of the car just b/c it was on fire, even if they were to give me a new engine. There is no question that a rod blew through the block and started the oil (or something ) on fire.

Drifting
Sometimes folks get wrapped around the axle over something much smaller and say they're owed a new car when a repair under warranty is what is needed. I'd like to see more photos including under the hood, full 3/4 from the front, if possible a photo from the bottom while up on the rack, etc. If it's as you say and you had not done any mods maybe a new car should be in order.
Keep us informed please. BTW, can you post the last shots you had of it prior to the incident?

My engine blew up over 3 weeks ago (5 mos. old 5,000 mi.) . GM has been mostly unresponsive. The dealership Manager and Service Manager have told me their hands are tied and they can't help me til GM tells them what to do. Two days ago someone from the "Allegation Dept" told me I should get an "estimate" from the dealer and that maybe in a week they would tell me "what they thought happened". Meanwhile, my 2014, 5 mos old Stingray engine blew up the car had fire in the front and smoke out of all sides of the car and GM has been totally unhelpful. Apparently a rod blew through the block? The worst part of buying this American made car is that the department at GM that the dealer told me I had to call to open a "complaint" was answered by someone in India. Does anyone know how I can get GM to respond in a reasonable time frame?

Man... poor guy comes on here for help and you massive A-holes accuse him of lying, being a troll, why?
Are you so ready to defend gm at all costs that you refuse to accept that they have the worst warranty and customer service in the auto industry?
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Let's see...in six years my 350Z has been out-of-service for less than a day...total...for oil/filter changes, a wheel alignment, and other regular maintenance. OP's C7 has been sitting for three weeks while GM and his dealer warm their thumbs, and there's almost no chance he will have it back within the next two weeks.
Maybe the OP should look around for a Z to drive back and forth to the Chevy dealer for a while.

Did you contact this number?, I had a problem where GM was the hold up on supplying parts to our dealer and the people at this number had it to second level before I got off the phone - the people I talked to were here in the U.S.
