Best way to protect the side panel paint ?
Will the GM splash guards be enough? What about adding side rockers? I really don't want to go with the plastic clear tape. What's working for you guys ?

I added a little more Xpel in the area of the door opening at the bottom curve. It is not covered by the factory film and that edge has been taking a beating. I am hoping to put on a set of skirts later on.

Regular base convertible, 1,400 miles as the factory built it - no chips. Just normal driving, did get stuck on a recently done tar and chipped road, chips had set, held my breath though. Stupid 1950s tar and chip thinking. I have seen where marks were present on the factory protection. Came right off with a damp paper towel.

Carbon Fiber Side Skirts Protect Rocker Panels and Perfect Match for CF Roof

I installed the GM splash guards soon after getting the car in early October. Still noticed marks on the plastic GM put on the car. The rear was OK but the sticky Z51 tires pick up pebbles and toss them from about ½ ways down from the front on to the side rocker panels and somewhat above. I installed carbon fiber full width side skirts from LG Motorsports. They are contoured and won a SEMA award. They have eliminated the problem. Will be removing the GM plastic.

I love your car's color. My current 2014 is NRB which I really like. Thinking about 2017, currently Chrystal Red is a possibility. Also will go with a black 3LT (replacing a 2LT) interior and black convertible top.
