manual. Hard to give it a full evaluation until after the 500 mile point, but the gearing seems very good. The shifter is taking a bit of getting used to and I definitely got lost a couple of times on the drive home in the 4/5/6/7 area, but any new shifter takes some time to learn and I was doing better with it by the time I got home. It more or less feels ok, except for the shift into 7th, which feels mushy. In the end, I am sure that an MGW shifter would take care of any issues if the stock shifter isn't precise enough.

Another option if you didn't get the red calipers is to buy red wheel edges: a very thin red band that fits around the edge of your rim. The 1/4-inch "track" sticks firmly onto the outer edge of the rim and the red accent band snaps into it. Looks awesome and adds just a hint of color.

Love the look of your car. I agree with your decision not to have red calipers. My wife's 2007 GTI has them from the factory. I think they are getting to be a cliche'. That is people see them so much they expect them to be there. Not having them gives you more of an unique look. In my opinion of course

Wired 85k Thursday for the car and as was pulling out ...until Dealership Owner got in front of the car and stated i could not have it, and that they were forbidden from letting me drive off by there GM Regional Manager even though the car was now 100% mine! . So now I effectively own a car that I cannot drive, is locked on a showroom floor, and that has no projected date for a resolution . Very disappointed ! but wanted to share a great color combo !

Great combo! Liked it so much I went to my dealer and change my color combo to Shark Grey exterior, with black interior. They had a new 015 Shark Grey that just came in to verify my color switch and approval.

Not the dealer's fault, and you're better off without an airbag that will come loose in an accident--the probable recall that is stopping you.
However, if they've got it more than a couple of days GM probably should be paying the interest on any loan you took out and/or providing you a loaner. Having already sold you the car they're on very shaky grounds forbidding you from taking it, I would guess. (It would have been different if instead they had told you they couldn't sell it to you until the repair was made.)
