Default Is a New Saleen Corvette in the Works?

I bet this bit of news will generate some buzz.

A video posted on YouTube shows an 850-horsepower Corvette-based prototype being driven by Steve Saleen.

And people think the C7 rear end is ugly. That's God awful.

Yup.

It's so ugly that it makes blind people cry

(reminds me of a Corvair rear end)

Rumor has it that it's a C6 based custom for his personal usage. Not based on a C7 and not a prototype production model from Saleen. //End of Story.

Just saying, but that's a C6. Not a C7 - door handle wrong, side grill wrong, fender wrong. I doubt they would use a C6 if they were trying to make something.

Looks ... different though!

It also sounded like all the brake squeals were coming from him too.

It's clearly just a custom car.

Given that it's in Hollywood, could be a prop car.

The concept came from the TV show Chop Cut Rebuild on the Speed Channel. They had Corvette Specialty of California do the body work. They called it the Corvette Gran Sport Tribute. Corvette Specialty now builds them for customers with a price of $60,000 with you supplying the C6 donor car. I found that information from 10 minutes of Googling and a phone call to Corvette Specialty.

Appears our "CorvetteForum Editor" needs to do some basic research before posting.
