Default Mid-Engine Corvette Expected to Top $150,000

The more information I gather on that mid-engine Corvette supposedly in the works, the more I think I need to find a few more sources of income.

That or either just accept the fact that the closest I'll probably ever get to that new ZORA is downloading a photo of the car as a screensaver for my computer.

Unfortunately a $150,000 Corvette would still be seen by many as an overpriced Chevrolet. It might be a better fit as a limited production offering slotted at the high end of Cadillac's evolving line. I have no doubt that GM could build an excellent performer at the $150,000 price point or slightly higher given what has been accomplished with the existing C7 and forthcoming Z06 but the business case for it would be a stretch.

Even if that is the price of the top of the line C8 ZR1. I seriously doubt the base C8 is going to be over $75K.

I'll put this alternate to you

With over 30 years of FAILED predictions by C & D regarding a mid-engine Vette, why on Earth should (or would) we take THIS time from them as Gospel?

I remember the skepticism about rumors of the LT5 powered C4 called ZR1, costing over $50,000. People said nobody would pay that much for a Chevrolet.

I can guarantee this, I will never pay $150,000 for any car; today, tomorrow - period! Current C7 pricing is at the top of my budget.

Who says this:

which Car and Driver reports may be launched as early as the 2017 model year and sport a price tag of around $150,000.
and another link within that article also points to C & D
