Default Disappointed in MacMulkin

Sorry I vented here...… just disappointed they didn't deliver what they said they would. I have removed the comments and as some of you suggested, I will wait patiently!

We're not going to fall for that slam so easy you know. And why? The key word is shipping. We all know that the shipper's schedules can vary and especially with this crap weather. Heck I was expecting something from UPS tomorrow and they sent an email saying it'll be late because of a mechanical problem. Is that the vendor's fault? Nope. You will be far outnumbered with people who are happy with these guys. I say not cool what you're doing. Blame them for shipping?

I'm sure Barrett Jackson tied up many of the car haulers last week.

Give it back, then go pay full MSRP at your local dealer. Then you can have it immediately.

What makes you believe that he will automatically pay full MSRP at a local dealer? I can go to my local dealer Reliable Chevrolet, here in Springfield, MO and get a huge discount off MSRP. The only thing is that MacMulkin will have a larger inventory to choose from.

Have you asked MacMulkin why?

I bought mine from Kerbeck around this time last year and Barrett Jackson delayed mine a week or so from the normal delivery window. However, they told me that upfront.

Shoulda used my transport guy. Picks up and delivers next day in enclosed transport.
With the big name shippers, you're kinda stuck waiting until it works out for their schedule to pick up your car on the way down.
Cost was about the same but I think it was Intercity that said 2-3 week delivery estimate.

MacMulkin is totally at the mercy of the hauler, just as you would be if you were contracting the delivery. A week is nothing to wait for a car to be picked up, especially around Barrett Jackson week. The major haulers will typically quote 2-3 weeks for pickup.

  • Buying a car and shipping a car are two different animals. And since the car hauler doesn't say MacMulkin on the side of it, I would say they have no more control over it than you do. I wouldn't buy a Corvette anywhere BUT MacMulkin! And I live 57 miles from Kerbeck. In my opinion they are the best! For the record, I flew there, they picked me up at the airport and I drove it home. Best road trip of my life. You want to be angry at someone start with the hauler.

IMO, this post is irresponsible because the OP has zero facts other than his car was not shipped. He provided no information whether MacMulkin in fact dropped the ball or whether the transporter has a backlog due to the recent Barrett Jackson auction where auto transporters around the country send their trucks due to the thousands of cars that ship out after the auction.

Disappointment does not give some the right to disparage someone’s reputation. Especially given the fact hundreds of forum members had an outstanding experience dealing with MacMulkin, including me.

OP was probably drinking some BUD and got a little carried away...another good reason to not drink and surf (the web).

One week and it hasn't shipped doesn't seem like that long of a wait. How long did they quote you? Many of us with custom builds from the factory waited 2-3 weeks. Horror stories of trains getting mis-routed and all sorts of stuff.

If you're in such a big hurry, I'm sure you could fly there and pick it up yourself and drive her home.
