Calipers Painted - FINALLY
I wanted red calipers when I ordered my LB/AR vert on August 31, 2013, but could not get past paying $595 for RED paint. I would have painted them as soon as I got home from the museum, but couldn’t find anyone to supply the “corvette” decals. I followed up leads for months from numerous people on several forums, but no luck. I finally found one.

I ordered the G2 Brake Caliper Paint System and then realized I’d have to put the project off a bit longer. The temperature for painting needs to be between 56-70* with this product and it was just this week that we had that early in the morning in southern AZ.
Put the car on stands
Stock calipers
Cleaned with included brake cleaner, sanded with 320 wet/dry paper and masked.
Painted with 3 coats and a 4th on the face. (The kit comes with a little brush. I used it for the first 2 coats and then went to a 1” sponge brush for the last coats. The paint is self-leveling, to a point, and if I did it again I would just use the brush for the tight areas and use the foam for everything else.)
Decals added. I didn’t clear coat the decals at this point. If they get damaged or come off, I’m going to lightly sand the face, put on new decals, and clear coat the face.
Wheels back on.

I like it-I've used G2 on my Daily Driver. Good kit, indeed!

Great job painting the calipers - they look great. Can't believe GM charges that much for them painted from the factory.
