High mileage Corvettes?

5 Corvettes since '90 - four C4s and a C6 - more than 600K miles total. My C6 had 126,000 on it when I traded it in January. I was recently told it now has 151K on the clock.
I sold my last C4 with 186K on the odo.... lady who bought it now has 250K+ on it... replaced the transmission (auto) at 208,000....
NONE of my Vettes were expensive to maintain....
Buy 'em, drive 'em....

My 09 has just a couple of hundred less than 75,000 miles on it. That is about 12,500 a year, daily driver. I will do the same when the wife and I get our C7. Never have bought a car that wasn't fun to drive, never will. The C6 still makes me smile when I start her up.

I just sold my 2000 C5 with 230000 miles for $10000. Had the car for 12 years. Autocross , HPDE's , long trips, and daily driver to work. I miss that car as I am now driving around in a female sports car ( Mercedes SLK 350 ) till my Stingray arrives.
Drive the car. Have fun in it. Use it. It is absolutely worthless sitting in a garage all
nice and clean.

Manual seems to decrease the odds of having issues.
I will be real honest. I am a little worried about owning this car past 50-60k. Sketched out by the direct injection not cleaning the valves. I will probably do some preventative maintenance around that time, or trade it in. I have a conspiracy theory that was the reason for the drop in warrantee from 100k down to 60k.
I have easily put 100k on LSx motors in the last decade. Generally, GM small block is unbelievably reliable. The last LT1 in the early 90's was a little sketch with its opt-ispark distributor and reverse flow cooling. But after the ls1 showed up it has been a pretty solid run in reliability... minus the ls7 dropping valves.

I don't think so. Whether it was 60K or 100K, both still clock out at 5 years, and almost no one is going to get to even 60K in that period. I think GM was just standardizing their warranties across product lines.
I do know one owner who posts regularly here, and her 2014 has close to 70K miles with no valve coking issues affecting performance. If it does prove to be an issue in the LT1, getting the valves cleaned is not terribly expensive, but at present there is no evidence of a problem.
I worry far more about electronics.

I've had my car since December 20 2013 and I've just gone (by about 20 kms) 67,000 kms (41,300 miles).

Again, it is just a wild conspiracy theory.

My theory is this was more of an issue on early DI engines, primarily Audi and BMW. We're hearing about it less and less these days, and no evidence of issues on GM DI engines.

Good on you for using the car! You're going to have to average about 1200 a month to reach even 60K before 5 years, but you clearly have no worries with the 100K mileage limit.
If you have valve coking bad enough to keep valves from fully closing, you will most certainly know it. The combustion chamber side of the valves are getting cleaned by fuel, and that's the side that seals the combustion chamber. It's the top sides that are washed in port injection engines.

I do kinda worry about mileage. When it's paid off in December I may want to sell it and get something different, obviously in Feb/March, I'm looking on Auto Trader and Kijiji and seeing '14's for sale none with anywhere near the same mileage, oh well, I don't cry over spilled milk either.

2008'c6 z51 manual transmission purchased new and now has 113 k thousand miles.
Best sports car I've ever owned and literally an utterly reliable car.
I've been driving for 40 years..
Sure the resale of any car drops over 100k miles and most of it is banks don't allow car loans once the vehicle goes over 100k mikes,,but who cares..
My annual cost is basically gas, oil and tires when needed..
I wasn't sure if I'd go A8 or m7 on my next corvette...and my corvette still looks brand new, drives better than new..I'm like what the hell is the reason?
I'll either do a mid rear engine corvette when the time comes or a c7 z06...
I'm pretty sure if I do the z06 I'll do manual and I'll do dual clutch if it's offered in the rear mid engine..
As far as I can tell...my existing corvette will serve for as long as I want it to.. I really don't expect any repair bills, the car looks brand new and drives better than new..(tune, intake, cow booster, DSV D shaped steering wheel, MGW shifter, 19/20 black c7 Z51 rims, $40 driver seat rebuild))
Whatever the hell I sell it for at the end will be fine with me...I'll have gotten my money out of the purchase price long long time ago...and quite frankly I believe who ever gets this corvette

[QUOTE=JerriVette;1595400463]2008'c6 z51 manual transmission purchased new and now has 113 k thousand miles.
I had a red '73 T-top automatic vette for 22 yrs. as my daily driver; purchased it in '75 used for approx. $5200 and sold it in '97 for over $18000 to a car enthousiast. Loved that car, kept it all original; engine overhauled and blueprinted at 128000miles; new paint (original color) at 132000 miles. Still miss that car, although our C6 and now the C7 are far superior in performance and comfort.

I wonder what would be the value of a clean no accidents 2006 z06 with 130k miles with everything working perfectly or a 2014 stingray 2 lt with 80k miles that is in great condition? Its rare to find high mileage corvettes.

I am putting about 15,000 per year on my 2015. I bought it to drive it, and I'm having a great time doing so!

I have 3,000 exactly on the odometer now. It's a 2016, picked it up last fall. Was considering throwing it away at this point. Who'd buy it now?
