Default C7 owners......... Save the Wave!!!!!!!!

For the new folks to the Corvette family. First, Welcome Aboard!!!!!!! You'll find you have joined a group of great people. I've met friends through the corvette community that will be friends for life.

The first step in that is the "Corvette Wave".

I always wave to oncoming Corvettes that I pass on the road. It seems I don't get the same percentage of return waves from C7's that I get from other Gen's...........Where you told about the "Wave"?????????

The manager of the Dealer I bought mine from told me about it. He also mentioned the one finger wave to give to the Porsches!

Enjoy your rides & SAVE THE WAVE

I drove my c5 today and waved at a c6.

Didn't see any vettes while in out in my c7 tonight. However, I circled the corner at the restaurant I was going to, and a huge table of people waved and cheered and clapped, and they asked me to join them after I parked the car. I guess they were fans and/or had already had a bunch of margaritas!

First timer here. My dealer made sure to remind about it before I drove off into the sunset. I now wave even when I'm in my honda.

I wave at every Corvette I see.

Do they recognize a C7 in time to wave back? We are still pretty rare, even in So. MD, where you see Vettes everywhere, so I don't take it personally, but I wave anyway!

"Girl-type Corvette drivers also have a unique problem: to wave or not to wave. This miss or misses who borrows her man's Corvette for the first time is immediately faced with this quandary. Should she wave first and look overly friendly, or ignore the wave and look like a snob? Most ladies who drive their own Vettes prefer to suffer the latter rather than take a chance of being misread. For this reason, all girls are excused for occasionally failing to return a well-meaning wave. So are new owners who are still learning the ropes.
"

Thanks, Zymurgy,

(Bolding mine)

Hehe. I remember waving to a C2 Vette while I was driving my old man's Chevelle. Guy probably thought I was some nut case.

Weather is cool in my part of the country. Tops and windows are up. I took a small trip to the Twin Cities last weekend, about 125 mi. Lots of traffic looking at leaves, I counted about 12 Vettes that I passed. I flashed my lights, got no response but c5s and older have concealed headlights.

I've only had my car since July but in my limited experience, the only other vettes I've gotten waves from are a few C6's. Have not passed another C7 on the road. Older gens forget it. In fact recently I was slowing to make a right turn and there was a beautiful C2 waiting at the light. Gave the guy a big thumbs up and he looked at me like I had horns. Perhaps my "thumbs" was in violation of the corvette wave policy? Oh well.

I'm gonna go out, jump into the cockpit of my shiny Corvette, go out and drive until I find another Corvette to wave to.

I've got a wave from a Viper and Shelby GT500 the other day. Pretty cool.
Completely ignored by a Grand Sport, C5 and two C7's within 1/2 hour of each other. Go figure?

Got a wave from a Ferrari... Was he mistaken me for one of his kind or just being friendly?

I get more waves from Ferraris than I get from C7s. I am still suffering around in my C6.

I wave at Corvettes of all years and I wave at Miata's as well being that I drive both.

I have been waving at Corvettes since 1969 when I got my 60 corvette.

My First Vette was my 2002 C5
The First couple of Waves, I was trying to figure out who that was and if I knew them... By the 3rd Wave from another Vette I figured it out...

I have 3 vettes now, but sometimes I'll be in my Camaro and forget and toss a wave to a Vette... Thats gotta confuse the Newbs to the Vette Wave...
