I put some "Clean Seals" on my car a couple months ago and have noticed over the last few weeks they are all coming unglued. The area was properly cleaned and prepped with alcohol when I installed them. The sticky side of the seals appear to now be dry and flakey where they came unglued. As a result, I pulled them off. The left over residue is also VERY hard to try and get off using chemicals such ad goo gone and rubbing alcohol. Has anyone had this bad luck with their clean seals?
Clean seals are a set of rubber moldings to add to the sides of the hatch area to further keep the hatch jambs clean from debris such as leaves. Heres a pic of them on my car before they went haywire..

I bought a pair but did not install them yet. I think I will wait and see what the vendor has to say about this problem
Reminds me of the 'performance hood seal' from the C5 era. We used to joke about this dubious crap all of the time. Sadly, I think you've been had -- just be glad no serious or permanent damage was done to your C7.
Another after-market "upgrade" that an enterprising vendor came up with to sell to owners looking to make whatever mods they can, regardless of purpose or function. Cleaning the rear hatch area is no big deal. Save your money.
This product "Clean Seal" is another gimicky product being sold by vendors selling Corvette items.
Clean Seal is just a automotive moulding product that can be found anywhere. They are cut to a specific size, most likely from a bulk roll, then sold as a speciality item at a very high price point.
Really how dirty can the hatch area get when the hatch door is sealed already.
Easy there guys.. Dont want any pissing contests going on. This originally happened to me in OCTOBER. So it's been quite a while. Lesson learned, water under the bridge at this point.
Same thing happened to mine. The vendor replaced them. So far they are staying put after about 9 months. In retrospect, not the smartest money I ever spent.
I agree they were way overpriced for what they are. I installed mine right after purchasing my car in December as I had the mod bug over the winter but mine have stayed in place.
Hindsight is always 20/20 but If I had it to do again, I wouldn't.
So far, mine are sticking just fine. I strongly believe they work in keeping out dirt and debris. For comparison, all my other vehicles have lots of dirt in the same area that these protect.
Price is high, but I got mine on sale over Thanksgiving.

Had them on my C5 & 6 and they work as described. Bought a pair from a CF vendor and haven't installed them on the 7 yet. Gotta make sure the area where they attach is very clean.
