He and his wifes ashes are in the Corvette Museum. It is a great story! Thankfully he got rid of the V6.

No question he was the driving force behind the development of the Corvette into a high performance machine, who knows if it would've survived without the guy. The only knock was he was opposed to big blocks, so the story goes. The big blocks turned out to be pretty iconic. I would add that Tadge Jeuchter is no less a driving force behind the latest Vette and all the rave reviews it gets.

I saw and met Zora at a Corvette show in 94 and during his talk to the group it was obvious that he was rambling and he sort of politely was given the hook. A real shame that that is my only impression of him, as he must of been something when he was younger and I would rather of had that as my lasting image of him.

At the show I took a picture of him with his head under the hood of my 68 big block looking at my engine and I really treasure that picture.

The debut of the 93 Anniversary Edition was in Palm Springs CA.
Roger Penske was being honered and Zora was a guest speaker.

Wife and I were in an accident with a Simi tractor trailer and never got there, but one of our club members did get me an autographed picture of Zora in the Corvette SS race car.

Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad his mid-engine Corvette never came to be.

Very good story. I was lucky enough to meet him many years ago at a Bloomington Gold show - had him sign my owner's manual and window sticker for the C4 I had at the time.

The American story. Our iconic sports car had a Russian immigrant to thank for it's existence.

Was there ever a V6 powered Vette? I don't believe so.

The 1953 corvette was introduced with the blue flame V6. The 1954 was also a V6. The V8 wasn't put in until 1955. One thing that I learned by doing my museum delivery .

The Blue Flame was an inline 6, not a V6.
