Default Someone had a bad day at the track

The driver had traction control off and was drifting around a corner into a straightaway. He over corrected, started zig-zagging, slid sideways into the barriers, and then the car rolled up on its side. The driver was okay, but I imagine quite upset about wrecking his Corvette.

When things go wrong drive it straight off and lock it down, HPDE 101. Too bad though, I hope he can afford it.

Leaving the traction controls and nannies on can help these situations from happening with newer track drivers. Sorry about your car!

Ouch! He'll be doubly upset if his ins agent tells him he's not covered on the track.

I wonder if the NCM Insurance for track use would have covered that ?

If it does anyone who tracks their Vette is crazy for not having it.

Ouch, I feel for him. Don't know how I'd explain this one to my SF agent. Hope he had track insurance.

another reason to leave the traction control "ON" all the time. It's so easy to lose traction when making hard turns with corvette.

Really hope he bought some dedicated track insurance, otherwise that will be painful on the wallet.

Jeremy, at 1st I thought that might actually be your car then I noticed it didn't have a Jake on the hood. Glad you weren't writing it's epitaph . Glad to hear the driver is OK. What track was that? Wonder if he had NCM track insurance?

I think J has a Stingray on the hood, not Jake.

Sucky end to the day, for sure.

Oh well, sign the waiver, assume the risk, take your chances. If you wanna get your kicks out of racing buy a dedicated race car, simple.

I never understood why people race their DD's around a track, do they not know the inherent risks in doing so or perhaps they cop the attitude "well that can't happen to me I'm too good of a driver"?

I hope he has the money to fix.

For the same reason people buy a 70k sports car and drive it 10 mph under speed limit for 50 miles a month and then detail it ten times and change the oil four times...

They can.

yeah well I can do a lot of things too, doesn't mean they all make sense.

I don't have enough info here but if that is his DD then it serves him right, if he has money to burn and that's just a toy then good for him for having fun.
